packerboy if your so smart why dont you give me the reason why you think trf, warroad, egf, red river, ifalls, moorhead, bufflo, brainerd, blaine, jefferson ect.. are so easy? escpecially when they all want to beat you real bad.. did you watch the hill murry vs moorhead game on fsn.. one of the so called powers to be in the metro looked pretty soft to me roseau could possible run the table on that garbage to all year. all i know is were a week away from shuting you up. just do me one favor after this year keep your schedule theory to yourself because the rest of us are sick of hearing about it... get a brain or quit posting sick of listening to your dumb3%&.

I think everyone needs to stop hating on the teams that are in the tournament. Yes you might not want to see Roseau or Edina but they are good enough to make it and you can not say Hill is bad because they barely beat Moorhead and Roseau stomped them. The only real way to know who is better is to play so why not stop all the arguing and let the issues work themselves out next week.

Personal Attacks. That's real smart. Why don't you help the admins out, delete your posts and ban yourself. I know that you are young and don't know any better, but one should at least try to be civil. It is true, people in this world will have different opinions then you.watchdog wrote:packerboy if your so smart why dont you give me the reason why you think trf, warroad, egf, red river, ifalls, moorhead, bufflo, brainerd, blaine, jefferson ect.. are so easy? escpecially when they all want to beat you real bad.. did you watch the hill murry vs moorhead game on fsn.. one of the so called powers to be in the metro looked pretty soft to me roseau could possible run the table on that garbage to all year. all i know is were a week away from shuting you up. just do me one favor after this year keep your schedule theory to yourself because the rest of us are sick of hearing about it... get a brain or quit posting sick of listening to your dumb3%&.

Where's the fun in that???the dangsnipe wrote:I think everyone needs to stop hating on the teams that are in the tournament. The only soft spot I see is the one between my legs
Now that made some sense. We'll know in a week who can talk smack all offseason. Until then, the smart posters hold their cards because crow doesn't taste too good...the dangsnipe wrote:I think everyone needs to stop hating on the teams that are in the tournament. that makes sense to me too.. so why dont we all start making sense and their will be no need for me to run the pack.. if lee feels he needs to ban me so be it. im not young just tierd of reading post about schedules and not hockey. im glad edina made the tourney i wish tonka would have also. everyone wants to see the best teams and games at our state tourney.
Everyone? I'm sure there were a lot of fans in red last night on the side of the ice I was sitting that were more than happy to see Tonka go down. Roseau has their chance to prove their worth. We'll see. Just make sure if you are wrong you come back and say you were wrong.watchdog wrote:that makes sense to me too.. so why dont we all start making sense and their will be no need for me to run the pack.. if lee feels he needs to ban me so be it. im not young just tierd of reading post about schedules and not hockey. im glad edina made the tourney i wish tonka would have also. everyone wants to see the best teams and games at our state tourney.
i cant be wrong ive never stated anyone to be overrated. ive maintained it will be a tuff tourney to win. i have never come on here talking about roseau being by far the best while edina is just and overrated chump that doesnt play anybody. ill tell ya what ive already retired from the youth board and if roseau gets blown out because their an overrated chump ill come on here and claim all cidiots the power to be and totally shut up. now on the flip side of that if roseau wins or it takes everthing edina has to knock them off that all the cidiots will stop with the schedule crap and give the north some respect.

Ummm they haven't lost yet? Went out of sections outscoring their opponents 27-1. Have given up 4 goals in their last 10 games which included ifalls, Blaine, Grand Rapids, and Moorhead. Have outscored their opponents this year 162-26. Their top three goal scores only account for 40% of their total goals. Team has not lost since January 23rd of LAST year. Goaltender that's NEVER lost a single HS game and set the state record for most shut outs in a single season. Should I go on?packerboy wrote:Another brilliant response. Why dont you give us your argument as to why Roseau who plays the 40th toughest schedule in the state should be the #1 seed so we can all figure it out?watchdog wrote:packer boy i cant wait for roseau to shut you up. if you havent figured it out by now you never will..
BIAFP, who won last year shouldn't mean squat. We are seeding the 2008 tournament. I mean come on, should we seed Moorhead #2 every year they come down?

won't matter
Steve, this has been mentioned several times in various places. They seed 4 teams and the rest are matched randomly.STEV16 wrote:I think if woodbury were to win they could make their case for a 5,6 seed with the amazing winning streak they are having. if they win, is it at 9 or 10?
There is no 5 or 6 seed.
Be kind. Rewind.
sparlimb- what bothers me about people like packer boy is this. according to him roseau sucks and dont play anyone. so if we come down to state and we dont win his point in his mind is made. in reality its a hockey game and when you put two good teams on the ice anyone can win. now since benild beat edina this year and if i were packer boy i would have to automatically assume their better than edina.....edina could have easily lost last night to burnsville ie case and point would that mean burnsville is the better team? if i was packer boy sure it would thats the point im trying to beat in but it just doesnt seem to sink in anywhere. after ahwile it gets really old.

61, Roseau is the #1 seed. It won't even require thought. If someone wants to quibble they are just being idiotic. It's almost like this person is confusing the argument on who will win with who should be the #1 seed.
I think Roseau has an excellent chance to win, but could get beat. I think they have a 100% chance of being top seed. I wouldn't waste your time with him.
You are right and that isn't an opinion. Roseau will be #1 seed. The end.

Have to disagree . . . the last change that goes with being number 2 is vital. It's also the difference between wearing home or away uni's.hockeyxprt1 wrote:Only the top 4 teams are seeded. The other 4 teams are placed based on a random draw. The seeding is not terribly important as we saw last year. For example, the difference between a #2 and #3 is minimal as you would have to play the other team in the second round anyway.

I know, sorry I guess my statement came out wrong. I was talking about the overall seeding, even though there is no offical 1-8 seeding, just 1-4. Hypothetically speaking.... sorry for the confusion.STEV16 wrote:

None of the seedings matter. All year this forum has been obsessed with Edina vs. Roseau in the final. The teams will be on opposite sides of the bracket, we should all be happy. If they are the teams to beat, then we will see them next Saturday, until then there is a lot of amazing hockey to be played. I paid witness to last nights 6aa and 2aa championship games, trust me this will be a fun tourney.
I dont get it watchdog and others.
The quality of Roseau's schedule is not a an issue subject to opinion.
Its a bleeping fact. Its not subject to debate. They do not play a difficult schedule. End of discussion. I dont care why they dont play a tough schedule, they dont.
Now, what does that mean?
I dont think the Rams should necessarily be punished for it and not seeded, but they shpuldn't get a pass on it either.
There is no meaningful ranking system in any sport that does not take into account strength of schedule when comparing teams that do not play the same schedule.
Why would we disregard it when seeding teams for the state tournament?
This doesnt mean I think Roseau sucks. I would seed them 3rd.
The fact that they won it last year should be meaningless. Its a different field and a different year. If Rapids had made it down would we seed them 2nd? If a team went 2 and out the year before, do we not seed them no matter what?
O- town , you may be right as to what will happen but I dont agree that it necessarily should.
And watchdog, i dont care if Roseau wins every game by 10 goals, they still play a soft schedule.

If Edina has only the ONE loss - maybe your case holds some merit.packerboy wrote:I dont get it watchdog and others.

However, they have TWO losses - and one of those losses, is to a team that is not making it to state this year.
Strength of schedule all you want - it makes sense to rank Roseau # 1 - until you can find another team more deserving of it. Right now - I don't think you can.
