February 29th Section Final Updates, Scores
Moderators: Mitch Hawker, east hockey, karl(east)
Lakeville S. 3
Lakeville N. 0 (eng)
North out shot South by a little, 33-30 or something close to that. North had the better of the scoring chances in the first 2 periods. Sometimes Hakan made a save sometimes they held the puck too long. You didn't want to hold the puck too long in this game, if you did you got decked. South scored 16 seconds into the third and again with 6 minutes or so left. Bill Simon had 2 goals I don't remember who got the other.

Lakeville South 2 Lakeville North 0
Lakeville South will have a great chance to do well at state.
I heard that Simon scored from Binder or Binder from Simon and that possibly Chris Cass got the other goal.
Way to go and I wish you guys well at the tourney. Represent our section well.
That Bill Simon and the Binder Boys Hofstad and Cass are all real good players along with the Hawk!!!!!!!!!!!

lakeville south will have an excellent chance to do well at state? are you serious, what is this prediction based on, because they are a .500 team that finished in the middle of the lake conference. i feel pretty confident that will lose their first. I know everyone will say that they haven't given up a goal in 3 games, but can you honestly say they will be playing the same caliber teams as are in section 1AA.

I was going to live my state tournament dreams vicariously through the Lost City.

LN had better chances to score in the 1st and 2nd, but LS had a few in the 2nd half of the 2nd, but could not bury it. They finally fed the points in the 3rd....it paid off 16 seconds into the final period w/ a nice rebound goal.
LS looked like they were gripping their sticks a bit tight through 2 periods, as if they knew they had more to lose. That won't be the case Thursday.
Hawk was right on - square to the puck and controlled most rebounds nicely, although he got sloppy a couple of times.
If LS can use their size/strength on Thursday and Hawks plays well, they do have a legit shot at winning....

Re: Lakeville South 2 Lakeville North 0
Against Roseau or another seeded team I know you're trying to stick up for your section but WHAT?Sioux Fan wrote:Lakeville South will have a great chance to do well at state.
