My respoonse would be the skate that fits the best. Last year I spent a lot of money on 2 pair of skates only to find out I was being sold the model that the store had left in inventory. Once he found a pair that FIT teh best he was very happy.
We ended up with a bauer 70 for a squirt aged player. My son has liked them.

Its better to buy a step down or two from the top as for Vapor XXXX don't have all the crazy stuff for smaller sized skates

When I went to purchase skates. I went to two stores. They both told me the same thing. The Vapor XXXX's were not a good skate for youth players. The boot is way to stiff.
Has anyone heard the same thing? I ended up buying the Vapor XXII's and my son loves them.

Yes, There are not many squirts that weigh 200 lbs or are taking 100 mph slapshots in the ankle.

Some brands are narrower/wider than others in the same size. If the Vapor
XVI's of XXII's fit your childs foot well, I feel they are a good skate for the money.
