Thanks. Good teams, also nice to see some good players from not-so-good HS teams participate at this level. Also funny how Rachel Blader, EP, wound up on section 1 team.

Probably should have had a section 9 to accomodate the EP Seniors and then let the other sections battle it out for the priviledge of playing sec 9 for the title.

Actually, according to the scores listed above, the Eden Prairie-laden 2A/2AA team isn't faring too well. :-k

Noticing a notable "star" player absent from that team too.

Congrats to Section 8A/8AA on winning the Championship 3-1 (EN) over the 4A/4AA team. What a great game and a great way for all of these graduating seniors to end and celebrate their high school careers!

Great championship game. I have a new even greater appretiaton for Kelly Wild. She is a great leader on the ice. With Sec. 8 Leading 2-1 with about two minutes to go Babineau just missed a wide open net. She had a great tournament as well as Flannigan from Roseville. The tandem of Lenz and Herzog for Sec. 4 only allowed 1 goal each in 4 games and those did not happen until the championship game. Shutting down the what looked to be powerful Sec 2 team 2-0 was especially sweet. Great tournament for all the girls. I wish there was a little better promotion of it though. It was truely some of the best hockey I have seen all season. MGHCA should have the rosters and results available on their web site though. Some of the girls were playing double duty between the Walser team and their Senior team. Thanks girls for helping make the senior classic fun to watch as well.

Goalies for both teams played well.
Kent on grey looked good.
Carlson - Wild pair played strong. Noticed that many fans cheered for Wild when Carlson was making a play?
Simones had a great weekend. Any idea where she will play next year?
Great job to all the girls!!!

It's very easy to mix up the two..carlson/wild
same size and alot of the same playing style. they did on the state broadcast of the semi-final game also. K. Wild is a special hockey player. But B. Carlson also adds an awful lot to the game. I think this has happened for years when people see a small player from Cretin on the ice they all assume it's Kelly and they're half right.
It was super hockey to watch either way, and a fun weekend

Wild and Carlson are as good a pair of defenders as any in the state. Hopefully, they will be paired at OSU..
