these boys will be the darlings in the state tournament and their cinderella story will be remembered for years to come.
watch out for this innocent looking train to come rolling into st. paul ala 'trojan horse'. wouldn't want to be the team that gets the unlucky draw to play 'em in the first round.
VideoScout - good to have you back on the board - hope you purchased the new kneepads! It's no secret I'm a fan of the Flyers, however, they will not earn a top 4 seed this year due to lack of respect for them and their conference and section. I would argue that they deserved a top four last year rather than this year. I wonder how Jared is feeling about his decision to leave at this point in the season? The Flyers have to win their first game this year no matter who they play.
BTW, Vid - $1200 to record a game - that's highway robbery! Further, your poll is in error as they only seed the top 4 so we will never know who 5-8 are.
AY
nice try angus. i wish it were true about the vidmeister being back on the board because i'm a huge fan. nevertheless, his ghost does suddenly appear periodically through seances run by stitchy. it's no secret i'm close to the vidmeister. heck, i even know his dogs name. of course Angus, the beauty of this whole thing is that i know who you are, and you haven't a clue who i am. i know that drives you nuts.
$1200 to record a game? i'm in the wrong business. word on the street is that the cameraman is no longer doing hockey games and he has abandoned his confidence in the us economy and shifted his assets overseas.
will the real mikey please stand up? lulu knows everything, i'm just the piano man.
BTW who ever said anything about seeding only the top four. i could give a rip if the mshsl seeds only the top four. this is my poll and i call the shots around here.
[hey slappathiah , do i do a good imitation of der schvidmeister?]

Time to quit complaining and get to work. What's the matter Little Falls fans???(or some might be players)....it seems like you're already making up excuses, geez, it's a good thing the Flyers didn't draw Litchfield for the first round, what excuses could you come up with then????? You guys had no problem at all with the idea that Little Falls could win every one of their regular season games, win the section tournement...but now, no the Flyers can't beat that team.....that's crap guys.....
The Champion of the Central Lakes Conference, and Section 6a should be expecting to play in the X-Cell Energy Center on Saturday after noon....other wise, stay home ....
Not sure where you get the idea that the Flyers fans are complaining. I read observations of the current seeding system (it should be all 8 or none) and the fact that they drew the #1 seeded team again. I promise you this: let's say you're a Wild fan and they end up in the 5 slot, but have to play Detroit in round one... you're going to be pointing out the stupidity of not ranking all the teams. Then we can call you a whiner?? It is what it is but you would argue that it makes sense that Litchfield should not be playing the #1 seeded team?
I graduated in 92’ but I still have friends and family in Little Falls. I was shocked to see that Little Falls failed to get the 4th seed. A prominent state hockey magazine has Little Falls as the 4th team in state with St. Cloud Cathedral ranked 6th. St. Cloud Cathedral though is a 4 seed and plays 19-8-1 Blake in the first round. Little Falls on the other hand gets St. Thomas Academy who could play with most of the AA schools and do so during the season. I also realize that Little Falls might get knocked a bit for a weak schedule or conference but they can only play the games that are on the schedule. In comparison Cathedral did beat LF at Cathedral 3-1. Further comparison though shows something more dynamic.
Cathedral tied Alexandria 3-3 early in the season. Little Falls beat Alexandria 5-0, 2-1 and 5-2 in the section title game.
Cathedral lost to St. Cloud Tech 1-6 and Little Falls beat Tech 9-7.
Cathedral lost to Sauk Rapids Rice 2-3 and Little Falls also lost to them 4-6, but also beat them 6-3.
If you look at other common opponents it’s close.
Cathedral beat Sartell 4-0, while LF beat Sartell 6-2 and 9-1.
Cathedral beat St. Cloud Apollo 3-1 and LF beat SCA 7-1 and 6-3.
Cathedral and LF each beat Rochester Lourdes 3-2.
Cathedral beat Holy Family 5-2, while LF beat HF 3-2.
Cathedral beat Prairie Center 7-0, and LF beat PC 7-1.
Little Falls 3 Losses came against Virginia (15-9), Sauk Rapids (13-10) and Cathedral (21-5-1). Cathedral’s 5 losses were against, St. Cloud Tech (12-14), Warroad (22-6), Delano (11-11-2), Sauk Rapids (13-10) and Marshall (23-5). Additionally they tied Alexandria (14-8-2)
Little Falls only faced one team bound for state, which was Cathedral and they lost. Cathedral faced 3 teams that are state bound in Warroad, Marshall, Little Falls and were 1-2 in those games, beating Little Falls. I don’t believe LF can compete with the top teams in Class A. I hope I am wrong and we will know in a few days. My only argument is seed all of the teams or make it all random.
This is Little Falls 4th straight trip to state (not a factor for this year's seed and should'nt be) and they are doing so this year without Jared Festler who left to go play in the USHL. Gone are his 71 goals and 54 assists so it is surprising to me to see LF at 25-3 again which is what they were last year. Oh yeah, last year when they didn’t get a seed and had to play Hermantown (the eventual state champ) in the first round losing 6-3 after leading for a short while. Go Flyers and good luck.
Actually regulus that was more of a response to the comment that if the private schools weren't allowed to compete Little Falls would be favored to win the tournement...read a little bit ...and if the Wild drew Detroit and couldn't win, fine......an eight team single elimination tournement is NOT perfect. My advice to the Flyer fans who have already gave up and are making excuses is look on the MSHSL web site and view the process used for determining the seeds.......not as accurate as you think. Furthermore (and by the way I'm not really a Flyer fan) but there is NO real comparison to these two teams untill they play on wednesday.......Little Falls will get an "upset".....

Who cares about all this who beat who crap, Festler gone, and the seeding process. If LF wants the title they have to play STA 1st, fine the game starts on Wednesday. I'm glad it's not Marshall!!

raolson74 are you a former player or wannabe?
I agree, what’s wrong with playing the best team first, I actually like it. It will show if LF's team this year are contenders or pretenders. Go Flyers
LF fans should be happy to be at state and quit crying about the seedings...yes, they will get smoked 1st round, and continue their 2 and out run. They in no way deserved the 4rth seed due to the simple fact they lost to Cathedral, and played no other tournament teams...if you want to get the higher seeds, start playing better competition. Bottom Line.
Ok defense did you even play hockey?or are just another wanna be on this site who "thinks" they know it all?you have no clue what you're talking about. and HasNoMoves...2 and out run?it happend last year so i dont know how they could continue the run!and no they wont get smoked first round because you probably havent seen either team play!but the fact of the matter is that it will be a good game on wednesday and i personally think it can go either way!little falls has a lot of heart and likes to take the body!you have these citie teams who afraid to get hit so i think little falls game plan will be to take the body!and ill take that one to vegas!
