What is my best option for getting AA tickets? I assume 'A' shouldn't be a problem.

Just go to the window and buy them, no problem.

Chances of getting tickets

Post by new2hockey »

I'm planning on going up for all sessions Friday and Saturday at the X. What do I need to do to get tickets? I don't mind standing in line, but I do mind paying more than face value.

Your best bet isn't listed. Get there 10 minutes LATE. Scalpers will start dropping prices after the start time of each session so that they're not stuck holding them. If you can stand to miss half of the first period of each session, you should be able to get in for under face value.

"should be able to get in". Sounds risky to me. I can't risk driving up just to miss out, even if it's going to save me a few bucks.

Get in line 30 minutes to an hour before tickets go on sale for AA and you will get tickets on Friday and Saturday. I have never been turned down because they are sold out.

Can you believe that people are scalping for a high school event. That's just crazy!

A handgun, trench coat and nylon stocking have always worked for me and my family and guests. I typically have my family & guests finished their meals at Cossetta's while I procur the tickets.........

Are you suggesting that the refs won't be the only ones robbing people in St. Paul this week? :?

You could read it that way Govenor!

P.S. As a cautionary note, avoid making eye contact with any gentleman wearing a 1970's London Fog raincoat and Nylon stocking.......

Yes I can.

This event is only rivaled by football in Texas as the premier high school sporting event the country.

Be ready to wait in line. TRUST ME. I thought last year I could just walk right up and was I wrong. You wanna be there about an hour early AT LEAST. The line when we got there last year was out the main doors of the X. Also be ready for stupid high schoolers to butt in ahead of you.

I believe sports illustrated or ESPN the magazine put together a list of the top 100 sporting events world wide to see before you die. By my count, there were two high school events on there. Somewhere in the 50s was the Indiana high school basketball tournament, and then somewhere in the 70s was Minnesota High School Hockey tournament. That was kind of nice to see. I'll try and find a link to the article

Edit: Here's the article: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... ple/070625: and MN HS Hockey was #82. Texas football was 90.
