"People watching" at the tourney

Post by Charliedog »

Who do you like to see between games and periods? I think the diverse groups really add to the atmosphere.

Ex NHL'ers, mini mites in oversized jerseys, scouts, hockey reunion groups, students proudly wearing their school colors?

Or Girls....I'm hitting the border line so this might be my last year before I have to ignore them. White Bear didnt make it, thats to bad. They always bring a solid crowd

Girls and NHLers. When I was in high school, we'd play quarters in the Class A morning games on Wednesday and get as many digits as we could in the evening session.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that number was fairly low.

I haven't seen Wes in about 10 years (my fault for not attending many games, or at least the right ones) but I used to see him everywhere: White Bear, Hastings, Bloomington. For some reason, he also was at BW3 in Dinkytown on Saturday afternoons during the Gopher basketball glory years in the mid/late '90s. Good times.

I'm getting a little to old for the high schoolers...this year I'll have to settle for the college-aged sistsers...

The first time I met Wes was at an AHA game. Back in the Billy Hengen days. He scared Billy.
I assured him he was cool, probably one of the most knowledgable HS hockey spectators around.
You know your on the map when Wes is at your games. :D
....Can't thank you enough for the time.

The word "debate" implies a two-way conversation. I can never get any words in with Wes. An interesting guy though :D

What exactly does Wes do? Everytime we go to a big game, he is there whether at the Colisseum, Xcel, Braemar, St. Thomas Academy, Aldrich..he is everywhere. We thought we saw him wearing a press pass at Xcel during the Holiday Tournaments.

I like to look for celebrities like Neut, Govs, boblee, TTpuckster, the whole crew. They are pretty good at hiding their identity, I've never managed to meet the living "legends" of this "bored".
