It is two bad LF & Roseau are in the same portion for regions as they appear to be the two best teams. EGF haven't seen them play just scores and opposition so still would go with LF & Roseau. Buffalo is #1 seed but in a very weak District.trev2k1 wrote:Teams advancing, i would guess Little Falls and East Grand Forks. Roseau sniped Little Falls in the tournament in Warroad but the two teams didnt have their best games. Little Falls did out play and out shoot them, but they know they are beatable now and come to play.
Bummer when the two best don't get to advance, but happens every year in some Region/District or the other.
The two 'best' can advance.Bronc wrote:It is two bad LF & Roseau are in the same portion for regions as they appear to be the two best teams. The way I see it working out:
Red Pool :
EGF 3-0
Fergus Falls 2-1
Moorhead 1-2
Buffalo 0-3
Blue Pool:
Roseau 3-0
Little Falls 2-1
Crookston 1-2
Mound (my guess) 0-3
Roseau (Blue #1) over Fergus Falls (Red #2)
Roseau to state.
EGF (Red #1) over Little Falls (Blue #2)
Two teams from the same pool can go to state.
Sorry I misunderstood, I think it will be LF's & Roseau.elliott70 wrote:The two 'best' can advance.Bronc wrote:It is two bad LF & Roseau are in the same portion for regions as they appear to be the two best teams. EGF (Red #1) over Little Falls (Blue #2)
Two teams from the same pool can go to state.
Glad they ensure the best make it.
I don't think they ensure it, but give the opportunity for any two teams to make it - opposite bracket or same bracket. What you cannot control (too a large degree) is who you play in the cross-over game.Bronc wrote:Sorry I misunderstood, I think it will be LF's & Roseau.elliott70 wrote:The two 'best' can advance.Bronc wrote: It is two bad LF & Roseau are in the same portion for regions as they appear to be the two best teams. Finishing first theoretically gives yo the easier game. But if there is an upset inthe opposite bracket than you may have the tougher game.
What you do know is that you will not play anyone in your bracket to qualify for state IF you finish one or two in your pool.

I think what alot of people forget about in the success for any team at the peewee level is it really comes down to coaching strategy. Who you play and who you don't play. Some would say don't change what got you to where you are but some would say that you must change to get yourself to the next level. All players want the same out come ( MAKING IT TO STATE) The players who know that they are not the most skilled know their part on the team and realize that they may not get the ice time that they deserve ( I was a goalie the same should be for forwards) In real life people make it from there strengths and inprove on there weaknesses. Regions is not the time to improve on a teams weaknesses. I wish every team the best of luck and I know that I will enjoy watching the games.

Now that regions came to a head is any one wanting to discuss the State tournament. I really no nothing about any of the teams except the nw region, L/F and EGF. Both these teams are very good teams but I'm not knowing how to exspect them to do at the state tournament. I think I Read a outcome from frederick61 that Eden Prairie lost to Roseau in the TRF tournament. L/F handled Roseau with not alot of problems (some say Roseau did not play there best. L/F is big and fast and have alot of skill on there team. Can any one reply with facts about Eden Prairie. EGF has alot of will power and does not ever give up. I witness them in 2 of there games last weekend and they came from behind 3-1 agianst Moorhead and beat them in 3 overtimes. I must say One heck of a game. Then they came from behind against Roseau after the 1st period 3-1 and beat them 5-4 to advance to state. What I would say is don't any of city teams underestamate these 2 teams they are both very good and take you by surprise.
