What a great game tonight. Being an unbiased fan, I thougth WBL got screwed on the non goal in the first period. I was sitting five rows up on the goal line and the puck clearly went in-IMO-before the whistle blew. I thought the refs were questionable tonight as well-they didn't call a lot of penalties that should have been called.

Interesting points from tonight:

Can Hill hit the net? They had many great scoring opportunities in the first period on odd man rushes but failed to hit the net numerous times.

Great game tonight by WBL's goalie, he was impressive and definitely kept them in the game.

Hill was constantly getting behind the WBL D and only converted on one-their first goal.

Looked to me that WBL lost their legs in the third and was hanging on throughout most of the period.

Had the opportunity to watch both AA games on Wednesday along with the two this evening-hopefully we will see more of the same next week at the X. Good luck to the remaining teams and the one team that may surprise some people is Woodbury-good depth and decent tender.

Yea, 8,000 +. I never would have guessed this place had a capacity that high. Does anybody know the attendance of the girl's state playoffs at the X?

Congrats to the Pioneers, sounds like it was a great game to be a part of.

Kelly, Prescott and Casto enjoy your first trip to State.

Kohls, Widing and Big Dan Sova enjoy your return trip, BDS I know you wanted this bad make up for last year and lead them to the end. Congrats.

Great game to be at!! Bears just ran out of gas by the 3rd period. I think the Bears showed a lot of people this year that they could come back after losing most of their top scorers. Collette played great game keeping the Bears in the game. The Bears have nothing to hang their heads about... they gave it their all last night.

There has been a few rumors about #18 Chad Lowell going to playing juniors and i also heard that #5 Putz might be trying to go someplace too. Nothing makes me more mad when kids that are too cocky leave high school early to go play juniors when they aren't ready for it.

If kids do leave it is because they don't get any better staying at White Bear and playing for Sager. He does not work the kids hard enough or teach the kids enough to get them to the next level. Grun is a perfect example of a kid that did not get any better his senior year and now has to make up the time in juniors. If he would of left like Hansen did he would be playing UMD this year. Ask any player that continued hockey after high school if the felt that Sager taught them anything that helped prepare them to play at the next level.

We love the job he has done so much that HM is actually paying his salary.

White bear doesn't have any kids ready to leave. The two kids mentioned are a long way from being able to play juniors. They both showed this year that they have some potential but #5 is very inconsistent and #18 needs a lot of work in the defensive end and also the weight room. Coach Sager prepares his kids for the next level. White Bear people just don't like hearing the truth that this group is not very talented. A lot of us were very surprised they got to the section final. Once there I think hockey people that aren't biased can see that they played a great game and almost pulled an upset of a team vastly superior in talent. What more do people want from their coach?

Hockey Scout: People expect a coach to be a leader... a mentor and to put the players best intersts 1st. I don't think that can happen in a program where Sager is more concerned about getting more outside talent the working with his White Bear players. Taking Cenntenial rejects...Taking a senior kid from Calf. that had to play 1/2 a year on JV last year due to the transfer rule. Taking a goalie from Buffalo last year... which conveniently bolted as soon as playoffs were done last year. How is that putting White Bear kids 1st? If you don't think that Hansen and Johnson left because of the coaching you are really fooling yourself. Yes talent is down this year...but this same group of kids did have a lot of sucess when Scott Hambley was coaching them in bantams. I can tell you he DID put those kids 1st. I would bet my bottom dollar that Wolters will be gone before his senior year.

Mr. Hambly is a great guy and coach. This group is missing quite a few of the guys from bantams. A high school coach has to coach the kids that are able to make the team. All kids that make the team are White Bear Kids by being there. I also know that your coach is highly thought of by people at the highest levels. How do I know? It is what I do for a living. These are the people I spend to many hours a year to count. This is what we do and you are lucky to have this guy as a coach. He has helped more kids reach the next level than you know.

No - it's more like Woodbury is lucky to have a coach like Wes Bolin. He has done more for Woodbury's program than Sager has - or ever will - at White Bear.
