Best Chance of An Upset

Post by formerallstar »

What Quarterfinal matchup in both A and AA has the best chance for a "ranked" team to be knocked out?

Some interesting matchups I think.....

St. Cloud Cathedral vs. Blake.......guess it wouldn't be a HUGE upset

Roseau vs. Blaine..........kinda worries me a bit

Hill Murray vs. Lakeville South.......I hate it when you get that sick feeling in your stomach about these games......I would love to see it happen.....and with a hot goalie you never know.

Oh, and remember what happened to Edina last year 8) 8)

Thoughts anyone?

I think Blake has the best chance for an upset in A and I really like Woodbury to upset BSM in AA

I could see Woodbury pulling it off too.............I just don't see any other upset opportunities in A except for Blake and Cathedral

Anyone have thoughts on Hill-Murray and Lakeville South 8) 8)

No way Gr beats Edina last season either. Cloquet has a similar makeup of that team. While I think GR was a little deeper, and had more top end fire power, Cloquet boasts a shut down D man who can score in Brown, and although I haven't seen him do anything in the 4 or 5 games I've watched him, Jokinen supposedly has D1 talent and will hopefully show up for the biggest game of his career. They also have an adequate goalie who's not great, but can be very solid. And then you have the luck factor. Cloquet has seemingly gotten almost every bounce this post season. Edina on the other hand has many left that remember what happended to them last year and should be ready. I expect them to come out flying.

With all this said, Cloquet offers the best chance of an upset, but I think Edina will hang on for a close win.
