I've always felt you can tell how deep a HS team is by how offensively skilled they are on the blueline. For Edina to have the luxury of leaving #20 on the blueline, it means they have nothing but depth and skill on the frontside.elliott70 wrote:Edina has... a lot
Great section 7AA tourney for the Jacks but elliott's right, too much Green here.

If Shanty isn't picking upset, I can't either...
Yes, it can happen?
My heart and I will be cheering for the Jacks from my seats on Thurs afternoon, (morning - what's with the 11am start, anyway?!?), but Edina is too deep, too good. Cloquet will hang in until the 3rd, edina scores a couple late when Cloquet gets worn down - 5-2 final for the Hornets.
Yes it can happen? See: LS over H-M!!

This logic also applies to Cloquet's #7, David Brown. He's always been an highly skilled player, but he's really stepped up his game the last month. #11 Austin Hatch is another excellent blue-liner for the Jacks.

Cloquet through heart and passion keeps it close in the first period. Aboult halfway through the second, Edina's size and depth starts taking its toll and they score 2 unanswered. The third period won't be pretty.

I can't see this happening. For one, Cloquet has solid depth. Secondly, they will not let this game take the same route as the game in January. Thirdly, Cloquet will hit the Edina players every chance they get. I have yet to pick a winner in this contest, leaning towards Edina which grates on my nerves, but one would think that Giles will not allow his team to lose focus after Rapids ambushed them last year.

This thread just makes me laugh inside. It reminds me so much of the Edina-Grand Rapids thread last year. Let's let them duke it out on the ice tomorrow. I can't wait.

No doubt Cloquet will have to bring their A game if they want to even have a chance to move on in the tourney. They have played great hockey this postseason. My bracket says Edina will win this and I hope I am wrong. one person can step up and take control of a game. (David Brown vs. Duluth East
) If he is hot and can snipe again from the blue line, I see Cloquet having a real good chance of pulling this one off.
Best of luck to the Lumberjacks!!!!!Represent the North well!!!!!!!!
However gotta go...........

The difference being Grand Rapids was a returning finalist and had Pat White. This may not be pretty. I hope Cloquet can keep it close but 1 guy won't be able to do it. If Edina is looking past them, they'll have a shot, I doubt after last year Edina will look past anyone. 8-2 Hornets.boblee wrote:This thread just makes me laugh inside. I was surprised to see the poll favors Grand Rapids. However, there are still plently Edina people that sound just like you do right now.
