Any opinions on the Blake and Centennial game at state on friday? I watched one of their scrimmages and both teams looked well coached and played physical.

Both teams are strong but I'm going to have to give it to Blake... 5-2. Blake is to big and strong for Centennial.

It's not that Blake is too big and strong, it's that they are just better. It is mind boggling why they do not have an A team. I personally don't think they should even have a team, I mean come on, these kids all live in some city, play for your community. But this year at the B1B level they are the only team that can play with Wayzata.

How much better is Centennial Red than the Black team? Have they played against each other, if so what was the score?

Centennial Red is much better than the black team. Red is kids 17-34. Black is 35-50. The game i saw Blake and Centennial play it looked as if Centennial had the power and the physical play on their side.

50 kids!? in my association we had 16 guys with two net minders and that was our team. It seems numbers don't always matter though since we made it to state.

It's not about how much better a team is than another right now, it's about who wants it more and who plays better

Yeah, yeah, yeah . . . we know you made State. We can read a bracket. Stop enjoying making it so much or a fiesty and under-rated Red Lake Falls team will steer you on the 2-and-out path. They have less kids on their bench than you . . .in case you're still counting.

And let's stop the silliness about Blake playing Bantam A. Are they a powerful Bantam B team? Yes . . .this season. They are not consistently strong enough to play at the A level and District 3 - who by the way has a teensy-weensy bit to say about where they play - won't start allowing them to bounce up and down from year to year. They are at the mercy of an uncertain enrollment and can't predict their future from any PW or SQ teams. They are right where they belong. Bantam B and the Bantam B State Tournament.

That said . . .let the games begin . . . I'll go first . . .just cause . . .

Quarterfinals
Richfield over Red Lake Falls
Wayzata Blue over Duluth East Black
Minnetonka over Moorhead Black (although I am worried about the Skippers here)
Blake over Centennial Red

Semifinals
Duluth East over Red Lake Falls
Centennial over Moorhead
Wayzata Blue over Richfield
Blake over Minnetonka

Sunday games
Centennial Red over Duluth East for Consolation
Minnetonka over Richfield for 3rd Place

Blake vs Wayzata Blue . . . flip a coin and call me in September!

Ha. It's going to be great to see you guys go down to New Ulm and get spanked by Wayzata. I'm guessing you guys might get 6th...
ill agree that wayzata is good but if we play our game like we played against u in the third all game we can give them a run.
I'll say that no. You don't have a chance. Wayzata is way better then my team, Wayzata will shut you down. But think what you want.

Ya they shut you down and we shut you down.. we beat you 5-1 alright.. so stop whining because we ruined your shot at state. Talk to me next year when you have a shot again.

They don't have to take everyone who wants to play. Why would they?
If they have a kid who's in his second year of playing, he probably doesn't see much ice until there's a 2 or 3 goal lead. A Blake parent told me that 3 or more of their kids will be playing varsity for Blake next year.

eagleguy quote"...so stop enjoying it..." I didnt say anywhere that i enjoyed having 16 kids. I would enjoy having more kids in the assocition. So before you start throwing around conclusions like "stop enjoying it" i think you would be better off to just not care about my recent post. And what team do you play for?

I am with EagleGuy.

The Blake-Wayzata game will be a close 1 goal game, coming down to one big play/save. This one is a toss-up.

And agree, there is nothing wrong with Blake at B1 for all of the reasons Eagle states. They are no more stacked than Tonka, Wayzata Blue, Burnsville, or any other large association with only one B team

No one can predict what can happen at this point. Would anyone have picked Richfield to make State? No, but that team has heart and played hard and earned the right to be there.

Would anyone predict anything other than a Blake/Wayzata Blue Final - not likely. They seem to be the the two best teams...all they have to do is win to get to play each other for the 8th time!

Can someone tell me why Blake is so good? I can't find any scores with them except winning against Sauk Rapids 2-1 in a shoot out. Wins against Wayzata a few times, wins against most in their division (other than Maple Grove). What tournaments did they play in (other than Moorhead)?Who in the top 15 have they beat...?

Thanks

Ha if you even make the A team. From what I saw your not that big of a help to your team. We walked around you like a fricken traffic cone. So no I won't see you next year. Have fun on the B team.
