get over it, how do you think they'd do if they had Schroeder, Haeg, Mergens, Schriner and one team like some of the huge schools out there. Its not that Lakeville doesn't have the players to compete, its the fact that they are playing somewhere else. Would it be better if someone else from this section made it? Until the system changes there will always be a weak section that gets people up in arms.

People complain right now because recently section 1AA hasnt been the best but it hasnt always been like this and it wont stay like this. Lakeville just split 3 years ago and they will develop. Century is also a relatively new school so give the Rochesters time to grow a little more and they will be fine too.
The REAL problem is the private schools. Now I dont really want to get into because its talked about often but if Lakeville didnt lose kids to private schools (Mergens, Crandall, Brutlag, Schroeder, etc, etc.) and if Rochester didnt lose so many players to Lourdes. There would be alot better teams in this section.
So dont hate the Lakeville kids for anything. They worked just as hard as anyone all year and now one of them will get the chance of a lifetime.

You're calling Woodbury a "down team in this field"? If you're going to do that, then Hill-Murray must a down team for losing to Tartan.
I don't think you really no what you're talking about goldy.
I thought Hill looked really good against STA earlier this year.. I have to believe the reason they looked so bad last night was all lakeville's fault.. They were all over the place.. Thats not a rip on the kids.. its a rip on the coach..goalieguy1 wrote:After watching that game, I thought Lakeville South and Hill-Murray might be two of the worst teams ever to come to the state tournament. No skill, no speed...neither of them would have a chance to win the Class A tournament, let alone this one. Just two hours of wretched hockey.

I was very impressed with this very underratted Lakeville team. They held with a very good Hill Murray team throughout the game. Each team was playing the body well, moving the puck equally as well (in respects to one another), and had some phenomenal scoring chances.
The main difference was Hill-Murray capitalized on their opponents mistakes and Lakeville couldn't largely in part to Mr. Phillipi. I thought it was a great game to watch, and Lakeville deserved to be at the X just as much as any other team down here

You are correct sir! Playing that kind of schedule all season they are accustomed to that speed of play and can compete, but don't have the talent to beat 6 of the other 7 teams in the tourney.chrissimonsguy wrote:In conference play, South faced teams like Burnsville, Rosemount, EP, Eastview, Jeffereson. All teams that could compete in this tournament. South didn't have the guns to win, but could hang with Hill because they have been playing against this level all season.
