Aaron Ness

niedermeyer and martin are both 6-0 or 6-1 and around 200 lbs. no they dont play physically imposing styles but they have the bodies to take ever other shift punishment over 100 game seasons. thats why ness isnt projected higher IMO. neidermeyer scored 82 points in 57 in the whl during his draft yr and was taken 3rd overall because of it.
but lets not start comparing our high school players to probably the most accomplished hockey player playing in the world in scott niedermeyer.

Man amongst boys?
He may have the skill, but I don't see that many 5'9" defensemen doing wonderful things in the NHL or college hockey for that matter.
Yes he is a wonderful high school player, probably the best in the state, but I'm not going to crown him just yet.

Keep in mind that he's only 16, right? He still has time to grow.Get Some wrote:He may have the skill, but I don't see that many 5'9" defensemen doing wonderful things in the NHL or college hockey for that matter.

You're right, Ness probably isn't going to be that high because of his size. I was just comparing the "style" of play. Ness is, however, only 16, and still has time to grow.hwkfan wrote:niedermeyer and martin are both 6-0 or 6-1 and around 200 lbs. no they dont play physically imposing styles but they have the bodies to take ever other shift punishment over 100 game seasons. thats why ness isnt projected higher IMO. neidermeyer scored 82 points in 57 in the whl during his draft yr and was taken 3rd overall because of it.

Great quote but I don't think Blaine is claiming that "We let'em off the hook!, They are who we thought they were."

Good thread. Since I don't have a life I read it all. AN is a wonderful HS player. He will be a true freshman next year. It is a leap. I would like to be able to enjoy him for at least 3 years as a Gopher and then we will see. Comparing him to 3 NHL veteran defenseman is a little premature. I will report back next year
Both wouldn't know hockey if it fell in their lap and licked their faces. The reason its mirrored is this is where they do their "research"The Huge Hook wrote:Listening to KFAN right now. What makes you say that? I've heard some pretty good insight on the sport on all levels...Listen to "Beyond The Pond" Saturday mornings on KFAN.61ache wrote:Both wouldn't know hockey if it fell in their lap and licked their faces. now for y'all hater out there, are you still mad because your little johny cant keep pace with him? whats your problem? If you dont like talking about him, why did you open this forum? His name is on the front of it. you say your sick of hearing about him, so why come in here? are you stupid and cant read?
Yeah, at tender age of 6, the Roseau boosters saw potential when Ness, moved him and his family to Roseau and got them a cushy job for 6 figures for spawning "Baby Jesus".SB24 wrote:So wait, i wasn't aware of this...Ness isn't from Roseau? I didn't know he was a recruit. Do his parents work at Polaris? Wonder how they got those jobs...
lol nice! Its funny how when your as good as Ness is people have to bring you down and cant just enjoy you as a player. Fact is hes one of the best players in this state right now. He has been great all the way up over the years, and yes I have seen him play ALOT. Great kid who will always put the team in front of him. He is everything that is great about Minnesota Hockey. Just to bad some people on this board cant understand that.61ache wrote:Yeah, at tender age of 6, the Roseau boosters saw potential when Ness, moved him and his family to Roseau and got them a cushy job for 6 figures for spawning "Baby Jesus".SB24 wrote:So wait, i wasn't aware of this...Ness isn't from Roseau? Absolutely nobody has said he isn't a great player. Nobody hates him or thinks he's a bad kid. Most would probably enjoy him as a player if he wasn't force fed down our throats. Pretty sad when you want to watch a good team play a game at the highest level and you have to hear announcers say "let's go back a few passes to see what Ness did". Really, do we now have to go back to see a pass that happened minutes ago that didn't lead to even a scoring chance? It sort of takes away from what people want to see. I for one enjoy watching great plays from great players, but I'm just about sick to death hearing that kid's name. WE GET IT, HE'S GOOD. Let it go people. There's more to Roseau hockey than Aaron Ness. How 'bout the player of the game. Great job by Tyler Landman. Super game for that kid. 4 goals in a game at The premier event in our state? Outstanding. Plus he threw in a couple assists for good measure. More to that team than #10. Much, much more.Warroad97 wrote:lol nice! Character is who you are when no one is watching
gohome, this is perfect. kudos to you.gohome wrote:![]()
Kinda funny, the only one not writing in this is Aaron and his family. and 90% of Roseau is at the State tourny. The one thing I will say, he is one of the most modest kids I have seen at a rink. Talks to everyone, and his family is the same way.

Great bunch of people. and he deserves Everything he gets. He has earned it.

The profound ignorance in some of these comments is astounding-- assumptions, snide remarks about Aaron, his family, etc. Unless you know him personally, know his family, know anything about his life OUTSIDE of hockey (and it is quite apparent that you do not) then you have no business posting such complete trash.61ache wrote:Yeah, at tender age of 6, the Roseau boosters saw potential when Ness, moved him and his family to Roseau and got them a cushy job for 6 figures for spawning "Baby Jesus".SB24 wrote:So wait, i wasn't aware of this...Ness isn't from Roseau?
