I watched Cathedral play Denfeld in the final and they are a stingy solid defensive team...I wouldn't count them out of it as a shoe in for the Academy yet.

Best of luck to Marshall. Bring another one home to Dull Youth and make the Zenith City proud boys!

Hats off to Warroad. They played an excellent game and had some outstanding chances to score...if they would've put that one in in the second, I think this would be a totally different game in terms of momentum. But my hats off to you guys. They have always played with a grinding finese..always a tough team to play.

Ummm, Cathedral is a private school too.. so we have an all-private championship. Now, I'm an SCC fan, so I'm happy with that.. I just love rubbing it in to all these people who "don't get it". ;-)

That game was alot of fun to watch. I hated seeing Warroad go down but it was good to see them not give up and put in a good fight. Just couldnt put the puck past that great goalie of DM. He plays like that tomorrow and Marshall should win it all. Congrats Marshall, and good luck

Did I hear that Warroad opted out of practice yesterday for a trip to the big mall? :-k

Obvioulsy Marshall had their priorities in place.

Warroad has never practiced on the off day at the tourney. Who's to say that a light screw off practice does the team any more good than a solid off day? That being said, that was a tough one to watch as a Warrior fan. Doubled DM up on shots but couldn't buy a goal. One thing that really frustrated me today though was that it seemed like everytime Warroad put a good rush on, the center and wings would just fly by the net or get themselves too tight and those huge rebounds were just bouncing away harmlessly. Kind of makes me wonder about the WHS co-coaches. That should've been an adjustment made right away, but it never changed. So either the players weren't listening, or the coaches weren't coaching...Anyway, too bad, I thought Warroad out played them, just tough luck today.

I would say missing a practice didnt cause this loss. Remember Warroad did outshoot Marshall. These things happen against a hot goalie

I do "get it", I know Cathedral is private. I was referring to the matchup that everyone thinks the Cadets are going to walk thru this one and meet up with Marshall as a given. What I'm saying, its I wouldn'
t be so quick to dismiss the Crusaders. They play an escellent defensive game.

I really don't care how many shots each team got or that Warroad got more; it's the ones that go in that count. Warroad has struggled against getting the puck in the net against "hot goalies" (TRF, EGF). You can't tell me a little work on that wouldn't have helped. Walking around in the big mall all day does not sound like a solid day off.

All that said--yes, good game. Both teams played well.

A little work on what? Scoring? What drill would that be?

And that's all I have to say about that.
Players don't just choose to go to private schools after there bantam year to play varsity hockey.
yes they do.
Who in the world would want to move there entire family to a completly different town just to play hockey on a private school team. Not many people. It's cuz they recruit!!
PRIVATE SCHOOLS RECRUIT!!

Umm...in the cities, where the majority of the privates are, perhaps a kid doesn't have to uproot his entire family, maybe he just has to drive a couple miles further, or in a different direction to get to school...
