Christ Student... inconsistent? After watching Chris play on many occasions this year I can tell you that Student is a model of consistency on the ice. He does not get noticed as much as other top defensemen (Jake Gardiner, Joe Gleason, Aaron Ness) because he does not play as flashy. He plays conservative and is one of the main reasons for Benilde's great defense. He rarely makes mistakes.

I don't think the original poster was questioning Student, but rather the consistency of Edina's blueline

I was saying Chris Student would help Edina be more consistent if he had stayed.

ha. The third line had plenty of ice time in the third period. I recall that chapman, a third liner actually got an assist on the fifth and final goal of the game.

quick ? for minnhock. Landman scores to make it 8-2 with less than 4 minutes left. He doesnt come off the ice but stays out for the next faceoff. is that classless or whatever you want to phrase it?

Wow... He MADE them print a correction.

I didn't now Pauly was that powerful.

And going back to the comment about Edina fans calling for Giles head a few years ago.... To be a coach in Edina in any sport is to paint a big red bullseye on your back. You will be second-guessed, nit-picked and eventually stabbed in the back in that town any time your team falls short of the state tournament...and even sometimes if you make it there.

Maybe in the regular season........Not in the Tournament. There are few things worse than not being able to play in the 3rd period because you are concerned about rubbing it in.

Just let the kids play!

=D> Happy 100th to me!! 100 inane posts =D>

It would have been a great time to get the 3rd and 4th lines some icetime as they won't see it in the next two games.
Lets clairify somthing here. Anders Lee Centers the third line as well, as he has done this many times this season. He centered the third line the last 12 minutes of the third period, so they could skate three lines at the end of the game. Edina depth of third line seniors is the reason.

Quick Comment

I was questioned about the Roseaus 8 -2, well I really dont respond unless I actually watched to see. Unfortunatley, our state is also in their high school playoffs and I needed to go coach a game. So i was unable to watch the 2 - 3 periods last night.

However, if they were up by 4 and playing their top guys, yes I do have an issue with it, especially if their 4th line is not getting into the game. I can say that we went up 4 - 0 with less than 5 to play yesterday and the 3 and 4th lines finished it for us. Yes, our 4th line scored to make it 5 - 0. It was funny how I critized the same scenario. That is way I have been doing it all year long, in tight games, maybe the 3rd sees less ice, in 3 - 4 goal games, yes the 3rd and 4th see more ice time and will finish it once we get past the point of it being extremely hard for a comeback. It is a game by game decision, if the 3rd line is playing well, then we roll.

The 1 -2 lines know this, they get more ice in tight games and will sit and cheer on the other lines in games that are out of reach.

Again, my opinion. I just think that is a great way to get those guys who dont see much ice in the game. plus, chances are they are playing against the top lines because the other team is still trying. They like the challenge.

I apoligize for not commenting, but again I did not see the game and this is the first chance I got to log in. Busy watching Duluth Marshall, or should I say the Marshall School of Duluth.
