Now people have jumped into the Edina v Hill thread and are carrying on the "Louie is biased" garbage.

Flannel fans sure are a tough group. Thier team gets flat out smoked and had NOTHING going and the fans want to find ways to poke holes.

... Lou was against us
... a goal was PROPERLY waived off
etc....

Any you say we are cake eater. Sounds like you all are the Whine & Cheese crowd.

Just congratulate Hill and go to bed...

who_b_dat wrote:Nice season for the Roseau boys and I am truely glad they got to enjoy the State experiance.

But, to all the Ram fanatics that were unwilling to give any credit to a city school this year:

-Ness was a NON FACTOR against quality competition
-You can't beat up on JV teams all year and claim that your undefeated record speaks for itself.

To the Rams players - Congrats and enjoy the memories.
To the fans - BOOYA!
Their first REAL competition and they could not get it done. congrats to the players for making it this far. Welcome to the big city!

Yep, you'll be able to hear a..

if a pin drops in the "bored" and there are no RoSo fans to hear it(because they're too busy complaining about Nanne), does it still make a noise?
Okay, now that was the funniest post of the day, even considering I wanted Roseau to win.

- to those complaining about Nanne favoring southern teams- HM is not one who he will often jump on the bandwagon over, MPLS suburbs yes but not the Catholic boys

- as far as lack of respect- go back and read some of what was written about HM and their chances in this game "never", "no chance", "running time"

To blow my own horn- I said that Roseau may think they proved themselves and look aheaed to Edina- they did.
HM came out physical (I would like to see less cheap shots) and played their game, taking Roseau out of theirs.

Roseau has a terrific record that I will not question and played an excellent game tonight. Unfortunately for them, they were not the best team today.

Good Luck Rams vs the Red Knights

AWOL? Won't we all go AWOL after tomorrow?

1) Hill wanted it more.
2) Ness was average tonight.
3) Hill's goaltending is underrated.
4) Roseau's PP was shut down.
5) Roseau's Defense was pretty shallow beyond Ness.

= 3rd Place sucks.

peace out. great board overall.

Big props to coach Lechner tonight, i've never seen a Hill team play that chippy (you could even say dirty). Not normally Hill's game but thats what it took to get Roseau off of theirs. It will take the same type of game against Edina, with less cheap shots to stay out of the box.

What was the deal at the end of the game? Why did #21 for Hill (who I hadn't noticed once all tourney) go out of his way to chirp at some Roseau guys?

Also Phillipi looks great right now, he'll be the difference if Hill wins tomorrow.

I doubt HM will be able to hitch (hook) their wagons on Edina. Great WCHA type game.

I believe when HM poked the puck into Roseau's end at the buzzer a Roseau player got a stick up high on him... scrum ensued

Speaking of blowing, did Hill-Murray do a good job getting down on their knees for the refs before this game or what? From the get-go, they put Roseau out of their element by playing cheap, dirty hockey. Not to mention hits after the whistle.

Congrats to HM on knowing what it took to finally do what no other team could do in over 30 games...beat the Rams by playing dirty. Hats off to them. Not.

As for Roseau:

We can all take it easy on Aaron Ness. The kid carried the team on his shoulders for two years. And he showed up tonight. Despite what you all say, he showed up. An assist on their second goal with under a minute left? The kid doesn't give up. So when he wins Mr. Hockey you can all eat your words.

Mike Lee played average tonight, huh? Hmmm definitely not. It could have easily been 7 or 8 to 0 after two periods. He stopped numerous breakaways. Yes, the first two goals were marginal, but he will win the Frank Brimsek next year so take it easy. And remember, it was the kid's first loss.

I had no dogs in this fight; so, I didn't really care who won. However, after listening to the fans in our area (all pro-Roseau) talk endlessly about how the Roseau players are such rink rats; and play hockey on the ponds 24 hours a day; and are so creative with the puck; and play such a beautiful style of hockey, and on and on, I hoped HM would win. It's not like the metro/city kids don't work at the game either. I guess listening to this for two straight games got me a little irritated with the implication that the "southern" player somehow just doesn't measure up to the "northern" player.

I don't think Phillipi is underrated; he was honored as top goalie in the state. But, he should be given credit for one hell of a game. He was the best player on the ice tonight.
