yeah you're right there are absolutely no hockey fans or a population base to support the game down here.north wrote:Without a northern team in the ship, what's the viewer turn out for tomorrow's AA final "I'm guessing low"??

It is going to be like this. One section will be cheering for Hill, one for Edina and the rest of the people there will be trying to figure out which team is the lesser of evils and will root for this team out of spite.north wrote:Without a northern team in the ship, what's the viewer turn out for tomorrow's AA final "I'm guessing low"??

And we'll be down here whistling Dixie & watching some great talent on the ice. Heck, I might even have to have hush puppies and sweet tea for the occassion. The South did rise again.north wrote:I'm heading for the lake to drowned my hockey sorrows along with my up north hockey son. I don't think many will stick around to watch Edina vs. Hill. The common fan will not be interested in this game. They would rather see Roseau vs. Edina.
I have tickets for Saturday's AA games and I think I will leave after the Roseau 3rd place game.
I'm willing to bet that the 3rd place game will have more fans cheering than the championship game will have. I can see half the crowd just sitting on their hands the entire championship game because they do not care who wins the game.

The great North versus South matchup happened to be last night. And the south won one this time around. Hill hasn't fared well against sections 7 and 8 traditionally, so it was nice to get in a win. Hill's hockey site says they are 3-1 all time versus Roseau although I do not know if that includes last nights victory. Roseau should still be proud of their streak and they have a chance to come out and bash another very good metro team tonight. I can't remember the last time I was excited to get down and watch the third place game...
