Hawk Yumusaklar, Joe Phillippi

Post by minnesotahockeyfan »

Any of these 2 guys commit to college yet?

Both played well last night

The game could have been 8-0 with all the odd man rushes and point blank chances hill had. But hawk played well, and Phillipi was up to the task on all the south shots, can't wait to see the Roseau game tonight

I don't think so, They will need a year or two in Junior hockey to Play Division I. They may have signed for D III. Good Luck to these guys. Mankato West Goalie Bruggeman, Looks like he belongs as a Junior. Lee from Roseau is SOLID!

I completely agree he is overrated, and folds in the big game..but it doesnt stop him from collecting awards

I feel Yumu would be a good fit at the U..similiar to Kangas, proved himself at a below average school...is battle tested..proved he hold his team in games against far better competition (see last night)

no way, gophers got Kangas, and Frazee for a while and have room to wait for a STANDOUT. Phillippi is not gopher good, and Yumusaklar needs more consistence first.

agree on Phill

Yumu has been over 90%, played in every game for 3 years..for a team whose opponent is better than them 90% of the time...Consistency isnt the problem....

we will see how these two do in the USHL

Unsure if they are either good enough for USHL. Time will tell. Nether are as good as Crandall or Hjelle were last year. Gophers passed on Ellingson last year and he was good. They will get a proven Goalie from Junior Hockey. I heard Frazee did not even dress for the games last weekend. I hope people realize give these guys a chance at the NAHL level or USHL.

Hjelle was/is awesome and is proving it at the USHL level

Crandall is the A version of Phillippi...AMazing stats on a great team. hes one of the worst goalies in the USHL this year, extremely overrated

Assuming Frazee's gone after this year, he won't come back to be a back up, and Kangas may only be there 1 more year, I'd look to get a kid like Yumusaklar signed. Phillipi is good this year, melted down last year and reminds me too much of Frazee in that consistancy is questionable, talent isn't.

Phillipi raised his stock a ton during this tournament... good luck tonight! Who's going to be the goalie for Hill next year? Maybe administration should run an ad during the championship game tonight stating that they need a goalie next year.
