i couldn't agree more, i'm mad as hell you wasted my time reading your response to my post. it's not my fault you "missed the point". maybe if you read the entire post and subject line, you would agree to disagree to debate about agreeing with those who disagree about wasting time reading posts about posters agreeing that those who disagree grieve.parrish4president wrote:I have seen, and written, some pretty ridiculous and pointless posts., however that was just outright weird and I am mad you wasted my time for having read it.Junior Samples wrote:you have to remember that "us" northerners could care less about hockey. this whole thing is a joke. it's people like the 'citiots' that froth and gnash their teeth at the thought of watching a girls 10U game, while being completely oblivious to what's happening to the united states in world economics and impending global war.

As I've said all year, Roseau hasn't played anyone good. It's pretty easy to go 42-0 playing a bunch of JV quality teams. They finally come down here and play 2 games against actual good teams and go 0-2. Not only do they lose both games, they get clobbered by a combined score of 11-3. I've been waiting for this to happen the whole year because I knew this was when Roseau would be shown for how good they really are.DmanDad1980 wrote:

Same talk as always. So last season during state everyone sent there JV teams to play?? Funny how much a team gets hated on when they were the ones on top. As for todays game, those guys didnt put up much fight. Maybe had you heard them talking last night you would have seen that was a crushing loss for that team. I was surprised the game was as good as it was today after talking to some last night, I felt bad for them because no matter what you say that team was special. The score of the Hill and Edina game right now points to the fact Roseau wasnt overated. Because if they were, then Edina loseing 2-0 right now mean so are they. Willing to admit that? or would you rather say Hill is hot at the right time and maybe about to pull off two huge upsets
All sour grapes. Edina is playing Hill tough and is certainly in this game. Both Edina and Hill made it to the 'ship. That other team you mention had the wheels fall off and couldn't even sustain a fight in the 3rd place game. (A team Edina did beat). I can't understand what is so hard about understanding that there were better teams in Minnesota than that one team up noth?
I have to laugh at many of the posts in this forum. From so called experts to high school hockey fans. Why can't everyone recognize that this is the State of Hockey? Everyone in the tournament deserves to be there reguardless of record. Hill put on an outstanding show last night and they continue to tonight. Edina has the history to prove that they belong year in and year out. Blaine played great to get to the tournament. B\STM is building an incredible history in the way they have played the last 10 years. Roseau has a history and although they had an average schedule at best, they played Blaine tough and beat Bloomington Jefferson this year. I am from near the Metro originally and then moved to near Roseau. Roseau's entire enrollment is much, much smaller than just one regular class size of the other Class AA schools. That is the reason I laugh as many of the people from the metro and southern Minnesota(where I am from) have some sort of fear or some other indifference to why a small public school from the north where many of the kids come from next to nothing and the kids can't be recruited to a private school from the north is a threat to them. That the talant pool is much much smaller and all I see in the forum is that Roseau is weak on one side and that they are gods on the other. I just think that Roseau has a great program and should feel fortunate that they do have a great program for such a small school to compete with the bigger programs throughout the state. And the rest of the state should be really proud of the state we live in that we have a sport that we dominate any other state in all aspects. From the excitement of playing to the thrill of watching.

Lets put it this way, tonight Roseau eats Crow for loseing to Hill but then again we have some company and we welcome the Edina fans to join us. Hill beats Roseau 4-1 minus the empty neters and 3-0 over Edina, I dont know but seems like both Roseau and Edina got it handed to them by what was a much more physical team. Got to give Hill props kind of proves maybe just maybe you cant be overated, you can just play the game and see what happens

yeah, i agree with you rozoverated, you bumbling citiot!! new england patriots were waaaay over rated. they couldn't even beat a lowly ny giant team that got absolutely clobbered by a lousy viking team.Roseauverrated wrote:As I've said all year, Roseau hasn't played anyone good. There were 5 very good teams this year.
Edina, BSM, Tonka, HM and Roseau. Put them in any order you like.
I would agree, except I would call them the excellent tier.
The really good to great tier would include: Burnsville, Hopkins, EP, Woodbury, Rosemount, Blaine, Eastview, Jefferson, Duluth East, and Centennial (going by the regular season)
It was nice to see that the top four teams made the semis, then anything was possible.

The New England Patriots actually played and beat good teams on their way to nearly being undefeated. Roseau played an absolute crap schedule, not playing any top teams. Roseau's overated and they sucked it up against good teams, bottom line is they're not that good.Junior Samples wrote:yeah, i agree with you rozoverated, you bumbling citiot!! new england patriots were waaaay over rated. they couldn't even beat a lowly ny giant team that got absolutely clobbered by a lousy viking team.Roseauverrated wrote:As I've said all year, Roseau hasn't played anyone good. First off, let me say I live in Edina and go to EHS. Alright. I had not seen Roseau all year until the tournament. I heard all the talk about them and their schedule and whatever else. After watching the game vs. Blaine, I thought Roseau was unstoppable, as they looked amazing. One small problem, Blaine isn't that good. I realized this after Roseau was pounded by Hill, then Benilde. Two quality city teams. I think Roseau was a good team, but they didn't live up to the hype that everyone created. The fact is, they played a weak schedule, and the last 2 days showed it. What do I think of Ness? He is a good player but I was unimpressed. I watched him numerous times as he slowly skated around and did nothing. He barely even backchecked today at all. It's like he just waits for everyone to give him the puck and then he starts trying.
Now, before you think I am just another hater, let me talk about my Hornets. Alot of Edina fans on here, and in general, have no idea what they are talking about, and they are very unrealistic. Edina was not a team sent from heaven. On paper, you would assume them to be the best team hands down. But on the ice, they too do not live up to the hype either. People talk about their depth, but they don't have any. The majority of their scoring comes from the Lee, Budish and Everson line. The second line has decent players, but they just can't put it together. That's all they have, two lines. People need to get real. Who do I think would win between Roseau and Edina? I don't care because Hill could beat them both any day of the week. They were the best team this year and they proved it during the tourney. Hats off to all the teams, especially Hill. Congrats.

So basically you are qualified to dissect the quality of the team after watching them once/twice. Good for you sir.Dominator55 wrote:I had not seen Roseau all year until the tournament.
You should come to a Roseau home game. During intermission he comes out and bounces a ball on his nose like a circus seal.He is a good player but I was unimpressed. I watched him numerous times as he slowly skated around and did nothing.

So what about last year? Roseau played essentially the same schedule with a bunch of the same kids. Did their key players get worse? Last years tournament field was stonger and Roseau won it, this years was weaker and Roseau finished fourth. No matter what a 3 game stretch doesn't define a season unless it's the last 3 games. Hill got hot, they deserved to win. If they play the tournament next week they probably wouldn't.
I guess that's why we play the games instead of just awarding a trophy.

Why, yes I can judge the team after seeing them for three games. Here is why...its a known fact that they played a weak schedule and when they finally run into a few good teams they get pounded. This is the state tournament, they should be at the top of their game now. Roseau is a good team, and I admit that. The problem is that you, along with many Roseau fans are so stubborn. It's like you can't accept the fact that they lost, by alot, and weren't the best team this year. We all know Ness is a good player, just not as good as I thought. He just didnt make any plays that stuck out in my mind. Thats all.

Its topics like these that make me hate the bored. How in your right mind can you say Roseau 'isnt good' or 'only won cause they played a weak schedule'. Its so frustrating because people are just ignorant. Hill was the best team no doubt but you can't say Ness isn't that good or Roseau isn't either, they one the tournament last year with the same team, are you people serious? And i am a city dweller before you accuse me, and after watching a kid play 40 minutes night in and night out, can you really expect him to skate 100% the whole time? Maybe Roseau just didn't have the depth this year, they looked dead tired against Hill.
Stay Classy, Minnesota.
Congrats to Hill (who played a weak schedule) and to Roseau (who played a weak schedule) and to Edina (who didn't) Unless Roseau and Hill can manage to schedule Shattuck and the Gophers next year idiots will whine about their schedules. Hill played Tonka, BSM STA and everyone says their schedule is weak, their conference is weak (other than the TWO STATE CHAMPIONS that is) You can only play the teams you play and if you win the right games like Roseau last year or Hill this year they call you CHAMPIONS. Congratulations!!

The schedule talk is way overblown! Both Hill and Roseau didn't have nearly as tough of schedules but they did well. Minnetonka had a much tougher schedule than Benilde but that didn't get them to state.
Roseau's depth was the issue in the end. Hill had too much depth and was the best team. This tourney had 4 top notch teams in it and Hill came out on top.
