I wouldn't pound on WB too hard. They played Hill 2-1 in a hard fought section final just a couple weeks ago. Hill wins and goes on to win state. WB is left to regroup and dream of long drives and short putts.
WB had some major team turmoil at the start of the year and Sager and the captains pulled the team together.
They are too big and have to much talent coming through the youth program not to mount a serious push in the next few years.

White Bear
As a former equipment guy for White Bear........we got a huge monkey on our back..............I will say this though........the day that White Bear gets into a semi final game during the state tourney, you will think we just won the state tournament..........
I think Sager has the tools and the ability to push the talent that he has available in the next few years, to state..........

First off congrats to the boy's in green. They played an outstanding tournament from start to finish. I was very impressed with their neutral ice play as well as the speed and precision of their counters off of turnovers. The goalie played outstanding and was with out a doubt their M.V.P. This team was talented from the top to the bottom and that depth and skill was to much for all of their opponents in the tourney.
White Bear has to be very excited about their chances in the next few years. The people in that program should be proud of their kids. With everything they went through this year to be a goal away from the state tournament and losing to the best team in Minnesota is hard to fathom. The problem for WB is that Hill is going to be there every year. This program just reloads. White Bear had a big drop in talent but proved that hard work and running systems with discipline can lead an outmanned group to great things. White Bear will be a much more talented group next year. I still don't see that defensemen that can get them out of their zone and run the powerplay effectively, but the scoring should be there and the goaltending will be very good. If they develop that defensemen for next year they will be fighting it out with Hill for another section title.
