If those 2 had stayed the rosemount lines would of looked something like thisAll-Conference wrote:JT Brown deserves consideration! Just think if Walters and Sainty would have stayed at Rosemount. Those 3 would have made the best line in the state! I vote JT Brown for Mr. Hockey!
Brown Percy Saintey
Walters Porter Markiewicz
Dale Anderson Loew
But to stay on topic, I think Gardiner or Gleason are most deserving. I do give JT Brown the respect that most people do not want to give him though.

Someone's got to say it so what the hay ...
I know that you can not judge a player by a couple games but does anyone else think that #10's performance against Hill and BSM was more than a little telling?
Sure, a young athlete can put up great numbers on inferior teams. In these contests against elite teams, however, #10 was a non-factor. I didnt see any of the fabled "quarterbacking the powerplay" that has gathered so much notariety. I also saw a flat footed defenseman watching pucks get shot at his goalie without clearing anyone out. Finally, I saw a guy who was shaken by the physicality of tough play and hesitant to take a check.
By all accounts, #10 is a great kid and he really has nothing to prove to me. He's got his ride. But, we hockey fans like to chime in on our picks as to who is going to win the game or who is going to win a certain award. His performance at the X was very dissapointing to me.

NoW I do believe that Ness is over rated now after seeing the tournament..Gleason is good but Gardiner is dominating....wbmd wrote:Or Jake Gardiner of Minnetonka.MNGophs17 wrote:Ness is a great player but after the tournament I'd say Joe Gleason would be more deserving...sure he didnt pile up the points that Ness did, but look at the schedual.

Ness will win but if he doesn't Gardiner should get it.ACTUALFORMERPLAYER wrote:Mr. Hockey is an award that is based on future potential instead of what it should be = who had the best year in high school hockey.
I look at the AP Player of the Year award as a better honor. At least that is based on what you already did/accomplished.

Exactly and since most of the people who pick it are NHL scouts I would narrow it down to Barnes, Gardiner and Ness. Barnes and Gardiner were both rated as 'A' players this year meaning drafted in the top 2 rounds. I also throw Ness in there because even though he wasnt rated this year because he is a junior, he would have been an 'A' player as well.
Not saying thats who I think SHOULD get it but thats who I think WILL get it.
