Refereeing in the WCHA

Post by Bruins4ever »

I cannot take another game of watching this. When are the coaches going to get a set and tell Bruce Mcleod to get rid of Greg Shepard? I am so tired of watching Derek Shepard in all the quality series, ruining the game. If you watched the St. Cloud/Wisconsin game tonight, he let the game get out of control by missing a knee to knee hit. Roe went after the player with a hook and the kid fell down into the boards and Roe received a 5 and a DQ.

Shepard believes that the fans come to watch him. His mechanics are poor, he is a lazy skater, he points with the whistle hand, and is only refereeing because his father is the supervisor of officials. Other officials have been suspended for missed calls or such (Schmidt, Anderson), but Derek Shepard can do no wrong. The good ol boys club continues. Maybe they should bring Ron Foyt back to schedule. Get rid of the Shepards and bring in some new blood. None of the coaches can stand him, but they must be afraid of the ramifications if they speak out.

The officials in this league are a joke. We have the best league in college hockey with the worst officials. I don't know why they couldn't get NHL trainees to work the league, anything would be better than what they are doing now. Shep's got to go.

The refs in the WCHA have benn very poor this year and worse than last year I think and yes Shepherd is horrible, probably the worst of all.
Ben Dover plays BOTH ways.

It sure seems like the Mavs get him a lot. Actually, we got both of them this weekend. Are they related? Mavs' fans love him..... not. "Shepherd needs his sheep..."
