Probably not, if they couldn't get it done this year, no way they do it next year. 2 out of those three won't stick around to find out.hockey015 wrote: Lee, Landman, and Oliver - are they staying?

They still got knock-a-moose and erickson who both got a fair share of ice time this year and a little the year beforeSiouxRecruit wrote:I dont know who is staying and who is not although if Landman and Lee both stick around, Roseau should still be very good. If they have some younger guys coming up, that would help them a lot.

So what does Roseau consider a good team these days? The team that beats the one good team (sometimes not so good) in the section to get to state or a team that legitimatly competes in St Paul? Reason i ask is because a lot of people have been giving STA a real hard time for chasing tropheys by not moving up to AA. Perhaps Roseau is just "chasing tropheys" by staying in AA. 8A would be better competition as far as getting out of the section for Roseau and perhaps they would have been able to compete with STA at state this year...

Roseau's body of work at state since the 40's speak for itself, they will continuously put out good teams, simply because it is the mindset and will of those who live there to carry on the tradition...
For those who rant and rave about the northern teams, just deal w/ it, it's been going on for 60 + years, and it aint stopping now baby...

Yeah, Roseau is chasing trophies--they beat everyone in AA last year to win the 'ship and they have competed in the big show the past three years. (Not to mention the other, what 29?, times that they have been in the big show...) Maybe last year they should have competed in the class A tourney, maybe they wouldn't have fared so well.

So, you are saying that they didn't have a great team this year and that they should have been in single A?! Are you out of your @&%$^# mind?! Or, are you just stupid? Most years Roseau would easily win 8A--certainly more often than they'd win 8AA.
I live in the cities and I have seen St. Thomas play--I also saw Roseau play several times. Roseau would have beat up St. Thomas Academy. And, what would that have proved? Nothing. People would say that they are chasing trophies and would say that they belong in AA. (In my opinion, winning class A proves nothing--and the dominant teams in class A should opt up.)
The truth is Roseau has nothing to prove to anyone. They are simply the all-time best high school hockey program in the state. Sure, they will under-achieve sometimes at the state tourney--and, sometimes they will not quite be good enough to make it. But it is pretty comical to hear people try to criticize a hockey program that is the model of success.

They played their worst game of the year in the semi-finals. So, are we to believe that although they had almost the same team back from last year, they really weren't as good as we thought?!

I would think they would like another shot at it. Even Neal Broten has said that the one important thing missing from his trophey case is that State championship. And after all, they need to finish high school.UpNorthStars wrote:Probably not, if they couldn't get it done this year, no way they do it next year. 2 out of those three won't stick around to find out.hockey015 wrote: Lee, Landman, and Oliver - are they staying?

They are in what, the easest AA section this side of 1AA? It would be more difficult for them to get out of 8A than AA, no one can argue that. Would they have made it out this year? Absolutly, and they probably would have been competitive at state in class A, because they sure weren't in AA. I would go so far as to say that unless something happens again like it did in '07, where all the best teams got beat out in flukes before the tournament or in the first round, they won't ever win a AA title again. Want proof? Look at this years team, everyone said it was one of the best Ram teams ever and Edina/HM/BSM were in a completely different class...
Thanks for the laughs. I always enjoy reading the ignorant posts. You are a troll, no more and maybe much less.UpNorthStars wrote:I forgot, all must hail the mighty RAM
