Hey offsides, I forgot more hockey than you know.(and I grew up in Brazil) I know what should have been done. The Lightning should kept their two goons ready to kick the crap out of #21. That would do it. Old time hockey. Too bad the Canadian goon, Carla Rakke(Carl's sister off of Youngblood) wasn't available. She would have showed her. Let's bring fighting into girls hockey also. Or better yet Carla could have pitchforked #21 and then hit her from behind knocking her out. Now that would work. GET A CLUE PEOPLE!!!! Rules are made to protect the players from injuries, whether it was intentional or not!!!! A MAJOR IS A MAJOR IS A MAJOR! 5 minutes and a game was the only call to make. Intentional or not doesn't matter. All checking in the girls' game needs to be examined as I said in my first message because girls' don't expect to be hit because of the no checking rule.

You guys obviously didn't read Boblee's plea to let this thread die. Start a new one about poor reffing if you want, but it's been noted that the hit wasn't deserving of a major penalty by many. This thread was intended to discuss the condition of a certain player, not refs, intentional injury or anything like that. Let it go, please.

Why even give Ralph the time of day! He obviously is a high school kid trying to ruffle knowledgeable people's feathers. Leave him alone and he will go away............

Wow, people! The goon comments were totally tongue in cheek. We all have opinions. I am against all fighting in hockey. It does nothing but is for show only. I am glad Heather will make a full recovery and someday will be on the ice again. She is a good player and a hard worker. It's time to let this one die because I don't care if Ms. Bye says it wasn't intentional to the big Lightning fan saying it was not intentional, we will agree to never agree. Totally fine with me. Best wishes to Heather and her family!!!!

Heather was at the Senior Classic this morning. Wow! She is wearing a serious brace that covers her entire upper body. What a great spirit she has. She was really up beat. GRG was lucky to have this great young lady on their team.

I know everyone wants this thread dead but i think we forgot about #15 from GRG who was knocked out of the game as well. Any updates on her and #21 injured from a previous game at state?

Regardless if they were or are penalties, doesnt matter at this point, but it is irony, bad luck, call it what you want, but the same person was involved in two similar but different situations that resulted in two GRG players leaving the ice.

Hope all the girls are scheduled for speedy returns to the ice. Glad to hear Heather is doing well and in good spirits, that is what is important.

#21 Molly Illikainen broke her ankle/leg and her collar bone. A full recovery is expected.

#15 Hannah Kohorest suffered a mild concussion and had some back/neck issues but is also expected to have a full recovery.

Great to hear, best if luck to Heather Horgan in making a full recovery also.

It's just too bad that GR/G wasn't at full strength for the entire tournament, including the final game. Even so, they were still able to make a real game of it at the end, and as it was I have to believe that fatigue played a big factor.

Fatigue. Bounces. Coaching. Whatever it may have been it was fun to watch and I would say the Lightning had an amazing season with no hesitation.

dirty E.P girl

Post by southern-cross-check »

I finally saw a dvd copy of the state tourney championship - the game was a classic. When the unfortunate incident occured that injured H.H - I was keeping a keen eye open for the subtle stuff to see what really happened....LO and BEHOLD - what was all the freaking debate about months ago?!?!? It was quite clear the E.P girl put a dirty elbow push to help guide H.H down to her demise.

Hope everyone, esp, H.H is doing well on the off-season, and in post-h.s life.

How is Heather Horgan? That's what I'd like to know. Maybe someone could give us an update on that? Seems that is what is important.

Heather is doing well by all accounts . Skating and working out at STP anticipates a full recovery is my understanding.
