I know my reading skills can be extremely subpar at times, but is the head coach job in the process of being filled or still open. Also, is there going to be a "scouting" staff? Again, feeding the questions I get asked right to the board. I think this is going to be a great success.

Post by Media »

Tryout for the Minnesota Crunch will be conducted at the IRA Civic Center Saturday and Sunday April 5th and 6th . Tryouts begin at 10:00am each day. Saturday the tryout will be follwed by an information meeting for players and parents, a tour of the college and living acommodations. Person wishing to tryout may still do so by contacting Dan Clafton at 259 -2503, or sending in your application. We will roster 20 players. This is a development program with the intent and purpose of developing all players on and off the ice. This is an open tryout for any player 19 and under who has graduated from High school in North America .

With NDP practices and scrimmages this weekend I am guessing that this may have impacted the Crunch tryouts?

I may be confused but wouldn't the players that are trying out for Crunch be too old for the Advanced 16's and 17's as they have either already graduated or will be this Spring?

Am looking forward to an update of how the weekend went, too.

Crunch Tryout update

Post by Media »

Tryouts went off well with the anticipated turn out for this event a total of 11 contract have been offered out of the tryouts. In addition 5 other cotracts have been offered to players on our list who had other committments this weekend/ track other hockey events(not NDP) you are correct Central. Saturday was the intial evaluation period. Coach Marrinucci was evaluating from off ice while the girls were drilled by me. Following that All the girls went and toured the College and the housing units. Today (Sunday) Coach Marinucci ran the practice and Kudos to the girls who braved the Blizzard (yes Blizzard) to get to day two the conclusion a one on one was held with each girl by Coach Marinucci and myself.Hind sight being the best sight in the future this tryout will be held later in the spring early summer. My mistake and I can guarrantee it wont be the last. But we are pleased and excited with our offered players. Ali Parizek, Casey Mcmullen, and Sam Rienert and Stacy Johnson showed very well with goaltenders Jen Coyle and Rachel Borchardt looking strong in Net. Kayla Kaiser and Dayna Sherman were strong as well. All players worked hard and enjoyed the process I think. Watch for continued up dates as we fill our roster . Parents and fans at the tryout seemed pleased and were complementary what we have been able to accomplish since Jan 21st. More updates to follow .as things occur.
