MASH
Our family has no experience in MASH, and our daughter is playing this Spring. What kind of experience is it?

Good competition at reasonable team fees and the coordinator works well with the teams.

I agree with the boys' MASH although I think the bantams is kinda chippy. We'll see this spring?
As for the girls I don't think it is very good. At the U10b level we played the same team 4 or 5 times.
Last year at the U12a there were teams with girls that should have been U14. It's not the organization it is the number of girls teams and the level of competition.
We probably should have played U12b but from previous experience with MASH B for girls it was a waste of time.
MASH boys and girls is completely different.
If you were a 2nd year U12 this winter then you are a U14 in spring. These girls need to move to U14.
IMO, MASH generally works best when 1st yrs. play B and 2nd yrs. play A. Yes, there are exceptions and there are some good 1st yr. teams playing A.

We played U12A last fall with ALL kids who played U12A this winter. Granted it was a pretty nice team that made it to the state tournament but not one was U14. I think the same could be said for all the teams. You are right though, because there are fewer girls teams it is more difficult to have competitive games.
