We used to have a white netted batting cage in the gym, and we'd work infield in the gym against the white walls... it was a real treat on the eyes in both cases. We also had a wood formed pitchers' mound in there which was no picnic to throw off of either - it was roughly 3 feet high (well - maybe not, but it most certainly was not regulation). I was a both a pitcher and a catcher, and it was brutal behind the plate trying to block pitches coming out of a white wall, about 2 feet downhill and bouncing off the gym floor.
Any chance the fields will be ready by Thursday 4/3? That's the Polars first game scheduled but the weather has been so cold and the snow probably has not melted yet.

I doubt many will be ready - particularly McKnight. My recollection is that it held water pretty good in the outfield after a rain because of the trees behind the fence - no afternoon sun. I would imagine that would be worse in the case of ice and snow. I think it's supposed to snow more tomorrow isn't it? Damn winter.
With 2 feet dumped on us over the weekend, and more predicted for the upcoming weekend, it doesn't appear as if GR will get outside unless they travel quite a bit. I know they played a scrimmage at Minnetonka on Fri, but I'm sure we'll be way behind schedule up here. Sucks as GR could be a legitamate contender this season. They'll probably end up cramming their season into 3 or 4 weeks which is pretty taxing on a young pitching staff. Not impressed with the weather this spring.
It's been crazy so far in the classic suburban. St. Thomas Academy beats North, Hill Murray beats St. Thomas Academy, North beats Hill Murray. Baseball can be a funny game sometimes.

Look out for Brad Hand of Chaska. He's the best player in the state easily.
Tooting your own horn Brad?
No I'm not brad. Used to go to school with him and have seen him play a bunch of times. He's the real deal. Yes Loftus is very good as well. Good luck to both of them!

Wow. That's quite a start. I'm glad they're not in the same section as the Polars anymore but those Mounds View kids play Legion ball for Tri-City Red. NSP can never seem to beat them and they always seem to win the district title.
Rapids has out scored teams 31-2 in four games. Senior Gabe Wood (committed to MSU-Mankato) is 2-0. Sophomore threw a one hit shutout against Hermantown.
