Rob Little arrested
Breck girls hockey coach, news reports on WCCO say he is being arrested today.
Accused Stalker Left Windex, Sex Toy As Gifts
Reporting
Heather Brown (WCCO) A high school girls' hockey coach is accused of stalking a woman outside of her apartment. According to the criminal complaint, Robert Little is charged with a gross misdemeanor for harassment. Little is the head girls' hockey coach and gym teacher at Breck School.
Investigators said Little stood outside a St. Louis Park woman's apartment almost every day for a week in January. The 30-something woman called the police. When they showed up, Little told them he was "doing something he probably shouldn't have been doing" and "wanted to win her over."
He also left several gifts outside her apartment door including: a flower arrangement, a plant, a bottle of Windex and a sex toy. At the time, Little was told not to return.
Two months later, police on routine patrol saw Little pacing back and forth on the road in front of the woman's apartment. Police said he admitted he knew he was trespassing, but said the woman was showing him attention by standing at her window. She later told officers she had no idea he was there and wanted to press charges.
"It starts off as something that may not seem to be a big deal, but when it's repeated and when some of the gifts that were given were of the adult variety, and that certainly becomes a concern to some people," said St. Louis Park Assistant City Attorney Andrew Small.
Small said Little met the woman a few times when she worked at Bylerly's, but only knew her as an acquaintance in the store. She told investigators she was scared and Little's actions were "completely unwanted."
Breck School said they will investigate the incident and support Little in any way they can. Many Breck parents were surprised at the charges. One man whose daughter is on the current high school hockey team called Little, "the most honorable man he knows."
Little is married with a child and has no prior record. He can face a fine of up to $3,000 and jail time of up to a year.

Based on this one news report it doesn't look good, but I think we should wait for more facts to come out before we make any judgments on this case. I don't know the guy, but as far as I'm concerned he's innocent until proven guilty.hockeya1a wrote:I guess that they will have an opening at Breck soon for a new Hockey coach.
It apears he has admitted to the stalking! and caught in the act hard to explain that.MNHockeyFan wrote:Based on this one news report it doesn't look good, but I think we should wait for more facts to come out before we make any judgments on this case. I doubt that any applications have been received since the job isn't officially open. I'm not sure of the rules of MSHSL but I think the job opening has to be posted for a time (I believe 2 weeks is the minimum) before a hiring a coach. That being said I'm sure that there is some unofficial recruiting going by some interested parties.hocktang wrote:I heard that 4 coaches already applied for the position.

That may be true for a private school but I would think that there are lots of rules about job postings in a public school. I would think that the teacher's union and other organizations have provisions in their collective bargaining agreement regarding jobs related to the school activities.chickendance wrote:The high school league has nothing to do with it. The school is the one hiring, so whatever the school policy is on hiring is what is used.
It would be consistent with all school, private or public. The MSHSL has no role in postings for either. Now the teacher's union or other collective bargainning units may well impact the process, but not the league.OntheEdge wrote:That may be true for a private school but I would think that there are lots of rules about job postings in a public school. Coaching Breck
Any Idea if Breck is getting a new coach or are they keeping Little?
Re: Coaching Breck
The Star Tribune reports today that charges against Rob Little have been dropped. It appears that Mr. Little was not stalking but that he was responding to the woman's enticements. The woman admitted the actions by her and Mr. Little were consensual. According to his attorney, Rachel Goldberger: "Let's just say that what she was doing would have enticed any man to look in the window."hockeya1a wrote:Any Idea if Breck is getting a new coach or are they keeping Little?
It is unclear on what this means as far as Mr. Little's coaching career at Breck. The school has said that it will wrap up its inquiry before school starts August 25th but declined to speculate on the effect of the charges being dropped.
