USHSHO National Rankings

Post by komada77 »

National rankings on this site were recently updated. I disagree with a lot of them (particularly ranking Minnetonka as #1 in the country when they didn't even make the state tourney) but they are still kinda fun to look at.

Too funny. They didn't even win their section, much less state. Edina outplayed them pretty bad the first time around...

Rankings are what they are. They judge teams based on a whole season not just ONE game. I'm guessing Hill would'nt like to be ranked based on the ONE Tartan game either. Minnetonka's season, (like all but three AA) ended with ONE loss. ONE loss doesn't define your teams rankings. It does define trophys though...

I know. It's a computer, it doesn't take anything but plain results into consideration. That's how it goes. While Mitch's system didn't put Hill #1, HAL got it right, so I'm happy...

Why isn't Shattuck ranked, I see other prep schools on the list?

I always wonder the same thing. They seem to think that because Shattuck is a prep school in Minnesota it is above these rankings, but prep schools in New England are not.

Because they are ranked in the Midget AAA rankings instead.

For the national HS rankings, the thought is to include all teams that are eligible for the state championship in their state. Obviously, in order to be included, teams from that state must have played teams from another state.
