Post by SportsMa »

Anyone know what teams are playing in the Grand Rapids Summer tournament coming up July 18-20 and the schedule?

Thanks.

The only teams I know of are Cloquet, Hibbing, Duluth, and of course Grand Rapids.

I don't know any of the teams that are going, but I do know that Edina backed out and is not going this year because they didn't know if their new coach wanted them to go or not.

GRG lost 2 - 4 to East Grand Forks in the Championship after beating Eveleth Friday night 8 - 1, Duluth Saturday 4 - 2 to get there.
Not sure on other scores.

EGF has some nice players. Was impressed by a few of them. GR standouts: Arolla(if she was #13)both Illikainens not sure which is which but #21 is going to be as good as they come, DeGrio, Rasmussen, # 17, and hats off to the GR goaltender. Not Havel as she hasn't been around this summer, but the other one. Saw her start as a 12u experimenting, and she's learned quite a bit. With a little coaching, and some more experience, she'll be pretty good.

I wasn't able to attend any games but I heard good reports.

I believe the #17 in question was Jess Stumo and she is pretty talented.

Rachel Wiley is going to be a very good goalie if she continues to progress.
