Sioux Fan gets all the credit for these kids making the Elite league as they were all on his Elite 2 team last year. He teaches the kids to play hard and that they have to put in the time to get better. Few other kids down here that probably should have got a shot also, but it is the S.Minnesota stigma that they don't have any good hockey players down here that hurts some of these kids. Seems to me the Section did pretty well in the Advanced 17 spring festival against the metro and northern sections...oh yeah, they won that without really getting challenged.
If there was not an Elite II league, the kids that made the Elite league this year would have most likely made it anyway as they would still have been the next best sophomores and juniors to replace the seniors that left. Its called turnover.

Elite II is a good league to get some competition and ice time before the HS season starts up. Its good hockey, great fun and you get to met some people you may have otherwise never met.

That is what I am trying to say. I like their determination and work ethic.

I also like that they are very good competitors.. If they keep it up they will both do well.

SECTION 1 Elite II Tryouts

Post by Sioux Fan »

Please make sure and get your registration in and completed. League Commissioner will not allow us to have anyone who is not registered on the ice.

Don't leave it till the last minute. Early registration will allow us to be more organized and ready to get after it.

Both the League and USA MN hockey registration needs to be completed prior to camp.

Please bring a Dark #'d jersey and a White #'d jersey to tryouts along with all required equipment. Mouth guards Ear protectors etc...

We need to have all the best Juniors and Sophomores in the area.

we can keep 4 senior skaters and Senior Goaltenders don't count in this limit.

Website is
www.eliteIIhockey.com

We need to get the best kids so that we can show the rest of the state what kind of players we have.

Tryouts are actually going to be two weekends long 16 hours of ice time

Starting on the Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th of August

Final Weekend is

Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th

at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM each day

We may cut the practice time to one day a week and add more as we go.

We will keep 25 players.

Please call me and let me know you are coming so we can put together some teams.

my phone # is (507)281-9851
my email is jnotermann@charter.net

Let's make sure we get the best players available
Past players make sure everyone knows that it is a good program.

Thanks coach Notermann.

Sounds like confusion already, why would you need to know who is coming, just show up & pick the best 25 players at the tryout and then ask them who they are and what your dad does.

Because John needs the Best Seniors, Juniors and Sophmores so he can look good and say he is the one who made them good players!!

Wins and loses don't count only at the State Tourney!!

Aflac,

if your son is a senior we used to have another opportunity but the coach from last year has decided to run another program in Rochester.

I am disappointed in this as the Wells Fargo Stage Coach team was for the seniors and others that wanted a place to play.

I guess I don't know anything about development as I have never helped any players develop.

I guess my work speaks for itself.. Most of my former players have enjoyed our program.. I am sure that many have sent favorable emails and letters to the league director about their experience in our program.

If you develop well you win games it kind of runs together..

I think other than Century recently not to many Section 1 teams have one many games in statewide competition other than our programs in Advance 17's and Elite II. I am trying to help our area players get better sorry for ruffling your feathers Aflac... I don't have an answer for the senior thing as I have always been against it. I have always voted for the next best kids in our league and not the senior limitation.

The first season of Elite I we had 17 seniors on our team I think about 6 or so of them signed pro contracts the spring before this spring.

We almost were not allowed to play but I called Ted Brill and Herb Brooks and they allowed us to play. I hope someone takes the seniors that don't have a team a place to play but I have done my part to help that happen.

I have no kids in the program I have no reason to be biased...

I let the kids get the last 9 spots by going thru a gruelling 3 on 3 tournament at the end of the last day of camp and they decide who makes it.

The senior rule is by no means a thing I have ever been in favor of.

I want my players to garner confidence that they are as good as any other players their age in the state.

We try to do this on the ice not in a forum.

Topshelf,

It is not on the forms and doesn't come up in the tryouts regarding what Daddy does...

You are so wrong...

You can check. A few times I have paid so a player can play I have had sponsors help pay for kids you are so wrong I cannot believe this...

I am very much against that direction the way hockey is going.. PERIOD>>> If anyone wants to participate we will try to find them some support if they really cannot pay let me know.

Again we take our top 25 but we make mistakes. It has nothing to do with Dad's occupation. I would like you to find an instance where this was true.

If that is true, Hats off to you for helping those kids, and you are in it for the right reasons, I understand mistakes can be made, it's just the ones that are always on some teams that should'nt be, or maybe they should be, but they automatically get on because of who they know or dad knows. That's what is ticking off a lot of people, and you can't blame them.
