New Topic SECTION 1 ELITE II tryout information

Post by Sioux Fan »

Please disregard the other post as I am doing this again this season.

I am actually more fired up than I have been for the last several years I hope the boys are too!!!! :D
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please make sure and get your registration in and completed. League Commissioner will not allow us to have anyone who is not registered on the ice.

Don't leave it till the last minute. Early registration will allow us to be more organized and ready to get after it.

Both the League and USA MN hockey registration needs to be completed prior to camp.

Please bring a Dark #'d jersey and a White #'d jersey to tryouts along with all required equipment. Mouth guards Ear protectors etc...

We need to have all the best Juniors and Sophomores in the area.

we can keep 4 senior skaters and Senior Goaltenders don't count in this limit.

Website is
www.eliteIIhockey.com

We need to get the best kids so that we can show the rest of the state what kind of players we have.

Tryouts are actually going to be two weekends long 16 hours of ice time

Starting on the Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th of August

Final Weekend is

Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th

at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM each day

We may cut the practice time to one day a week and add more as we go.

We will keep 25 players.

Please call me and let me know you are coming so we can put together some teams.

my phone # is (507)281-9851
my email is jnotermann@charter.net

Let's make sure we get the best players available
Past players make sure everyone knows that it is a good program.

Thanks coach Notermann.

Sioux Fan, I'm wondering how many have you had sign up for the tryout?

What # of players are you trying to get to for this tryout?

It seems like the response is not so great that your constantly pushing this to the top with tryouts coming up next weekend. True/false?

Or is there some other reason..and don't they have a website? and doesn't the league send out invites?

I'm just trying to figure out why your using the bored to do this...not that there is anything wrong with it, it just seems most of these things fill up quite fast on their own.

Are the other sections having a difficult time getting players into the league this year.

Look for Team Wisconsin to release it's roster to the public sometime next week.

All SiouxFan is trying to do is get the info out to the top juniors and sophomores in southern minnesota because he truly wants to make the kids better. Elite II is like the Stanley Cup to John, and I mean that in a good way. He's very passionate about the game and passes that along to the teams he coaches. I owe much of my personal successes to him so thanks John.

Thanks GABT... Good luck in the Elite League this fall... and Stanley Cup is a bit much but I do like our kids to play as hard as they can every shift.

If they do they have a lot of fun and I do to.

Except you??

Give Sioux Fan a break. He's using an outlet for notifying the kids in his section that they're looking for all the kids that are eligible so he can put the best product on the ice.

I don't see or hear of any other Elite II coaches doing anything like that.
Don't sweat the small stuff.
It's all small stuff.

No offense but I don't think they have to!

JN does a nice job with the kids. He's pushing hard this year because SE MN hockey politics or crap, which ever you prefer have stole some of his players.

Interesting how the Wells Fargo team is rostered/picked before Elite II.

That's that way things are done down there, no wonder why everyone thinks section 1 is a joke.

Good luck John.

Your son must have not been asked to play for WF team. Why bash them from what i hear they just are giving the 14 seniors (that won't make Elite II because they can only take 4) a place to play. From what I hear it is the place to play in the Southern area!!

Aflac who will they play.

Do you know the chosen roster? I sure do not know why the kids would not want to play 16 hours vs the other best kids in the section and figure out if they are in the top group and then go on and represent our area and hopefully have a great high school season and move up next season.

Let me know why this program is better than what we have been doing for many years. I probably don't agree I have always made competition for ice time and being accountable part of our program. i think that is the most significant difference..

I don't annoint anyone. We are going to have a very nice team and my understanding from MN hockey is that now we cannot even play this team as they have went around the plan of MN Hockey and the High School coaches....

Let me know why this is superior. Again our success rate for the top seniors is pretty high. The next tryout that the seniors go to will be Junior A and if they don't compete in camp and win a job thier career is over. We try to make them battle for this opportunity and gain confidence for when they go to junior camps in the upcoming years.

The opportunity to play vs the U-16 team from Wisconsin who does have several future d-1 players is another reason to tryout for our squad and for the players in the Under 16 group we are taking an allstar team to an Xposure tourney in Chicago at the end of our season.

Again with the success we have had with our seniors gettng opportunities to tryout and play junior A and the underclassmen moving up to the Elite league this fall why is our program not good enough for these kids. Why don't they want to come to camp and compete hard for 16 hours and see what happens for them.

I know why! They don't understand that is an important skill to feel the pressure to perform and impress the coaches. It is about taking the jobs and working your tail off it is not about tweaking one or two skills and then you will get the jobs. Our kids need to be great competitors. That is what I try to instill in them.

I am consistant about that. Again we are going to have a great team. I am disappointed that this has come to this.

I plan to see the players that want to be challenged at the rink the next two weekends and I wish them all the best of luck.

Let's not sit here and bash other peoples program when they are doing the same thing you are just given kids an oppurtunity. If you are so confident with your program why all the stink about this other team!!!!

I have heard that they will get passed by MN Hockey just like the Duluth Team and the Cities teams!

I think we can all agree that each program is in it for one reason the kids!!

This topic should be stopped it is getting waaaaayyyyy out of hand!

Good luck to all the Kids that participate in the Fall Leagues!!

I also don't think that the Kids that played Elite II last year made the Elite I this year is all because of you!

There are alot of people involved with these kids that work just as hard as you to get these kids recognized.....

The point of Elite II league is to get the best juniors and Sophomores and the top 4 seniors that may have been missed by the Elite League an opportunity to compete in the best league they can.

Obviously if you have competing leagues without tryouts trying to take some of the better kids that diminishes the value for all of the best kids across our state and Wisconsin and North Dakota. Obviously 5 years of work and refinement has been put into our league to make it as good as possible but the real value is having the best players play in it. If these other groups solicit some of the best players the value is diminished for all the players neither group gets challenged as much. I want our kids to get the greatest challenge they can in practice and in games.

Pretty obvious to me.
