As you know, a lot of things can change between now and the season. But here is what it looks like for Section 8AA as of now (IMO):

1. Moorhead - Didn't lose a whole lot from last year, has many solid veterans that should lead the team, and has many capable JV players to fill in the holes.

2. Roseau - Lost quite a bit from last year, but still have a few key players that should carry the team to a pretty great length, younger players will need to step up as well as the new goalie between the pipes.

3. Tech - Lost some good players up front, have a very good defensive core and goalie returning, have some very good young talent to put up offensive numbers.

4. Buffalo - Lost a few players from last season, have a pretty good returning lineup, will need someone to step up big in net.

5. Brainerd - Lost nearly everyone on offense with Olson, Frazier, Sheppard, Monda, and Tamasy departing (for those who were not aware Julius Tamasy will be playing for Duluth East next season), also lost a very good head coach.

*2,3, and 4 were very close and I am just putting in an educated guess with the information that I have on those three teams.

*6,7, and 8 are hard to tell as I think they could be in any order, I think these teams still need a few years to build up there programs to a more competitive level.

*GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF THESE TEAMS, WORK HARD AND GOOD THINGS CAN HAPPEN!

Don't under estimate roseau....when this group was peewee's and Bantams they went to state and did very well. When they played Moorehead it was great hockey but roseau kept on winning. This group of kids will be the team to beat in Section 8AA.

Roseau is defending champs and still has a potent line up. They have no specific weakness and will find players to step in...Buffalo will be a strong contender in my opinion with 75% of scoring returning and one year older...goaltending may not be as big of an issue as people think. Moorhead will be Moorhead but will need to rely on youth to score goals. Tech will be top heavy similiar to Buffalo...only I think a little less depth.

1.) Roseau
2.) Buffalo
3.) Moorhead
4.) Tech
5.) Brainerd

It's not a true Famer post without some unrealistic expectations for Buffalo. Glad to see you're back in mid-season form.

not sure who puckluck19 is...could it be Puckguy19? I would like to think Buffalo has a chance because they had a decnt season last year and have their core group coming back...when this group was Bantams they were a top twenty bantam team....Better to expect the best then settle for the worst...It's August and i am putting this bored on notice that Buffalo is going to be pretty good this season...

So Oliver is skipping his senior season at Roseau this year, or are people just thinkin he'll do the before and after thing? Did i miss the posts about that? I see he's on the Fargo Force final roster and also saw that the Roseau school board voted to allow him to complete his final year off classes on-line.

Nick is doing before and after with the Fargo Force and will be doing online courses the entire school year.

I agree with HOF'r. 2008 has all the makings for a fantastic year in Buffalo. Ram Hockey better not make his reservations for St. Paul until the Section final is complete. 8)

Third time's the charm.

I think 3-5 could end up in any order though.

Yes, and this years seniors from St. Cloud were once rated as #1 in the state for PeeWee and Bantam hockey. Things change
