A thousand pardons... Mrs. Govs had me assembling a new treadmill which I assume will become her latest and greatest place to hang clothes (that I've had to wash) or prop her feet up.
I don't think CNT is familiar with the sport being discussed here.

The ones that got away this month
9/3: 4-3 lead in the 9th (loss)
9/6: 4-2 lead in the 8th (loss)
9/11: Liriano 8in, 6hits, 2runs, 7k's, 0BB's (loss)
9/16: 9-8 lead in the 8th (loss)
Above is the bad news but the good news is the Sox have left the door open. Had the Twins held on and taken any two of the above they would still be in need of a sweep of the Sox this week anyway. The Twins have what they need, enough games against the team they are chasing to catch 'em. No room for error, but that may be a good thing.
Realistically, the Twins still proably need all three against Chicago because they're 3 back in the loss column. 2 out of 3 won't get it done this time. If you go 4 games back with 5 to play, it's probably over... They'd have to count on Cleveland to take 2 of 3 against the Sox over the weekend, and I wouldnt hold my breath on that.
Big, big, big, big, big series starts Tuesday. I'll be carrying a barf bag with me into the Dome this week in case my nerves get the best of me.
Oct 4, 2009, Twins vs. Royals will be the final game at the Dome for our storied franchise. No doubt it will be a nationally televised game that will recieve the same fanfare that Yankee Stadium is recieving tonight? I can see the pregame right now with all the Twin greats trotting out to their positions on the bouncy carpet right now.
If... if The Twins are able to take the first two games of the Sox series (and of course there's no sign pointing toward that happening based on their recent performances), do you switch Slowey and Liriano in the rotation so that Liriano closes the Sox series on 3 days rest and Slowey opens against the Royals?
Leave the rotation as is. The Twins need to run the table to win the division. Sliding up Liriano and sliding back Slowey doesn't change that. Keep 'em on normal rest and hope that they can perform when their turn comes around.
After watching all the love at Yankee stadium last night I'm really hoping for a TB/MIN ALCS to gaurantee a dome team in the World Series. For all the purists who hate the bouncey carpet, bad lighting, "in play" speakers, sterile environment, and the fact that the Goodyear Blimp can only look down at a roof, I love it.
Apparently the Twins looked pretty good last night. You know why? They had a #3 hitter who the other team had to game plan for, they had a #4 hitter that the other team had to gameplan for, and they had a #5 hitter who answered the bell. With a little pop beyond the four hole a team can win even if the #1 and #2 go 0x9.
Buehrle in, Kubel out, Cuddyer in. This one tonight is the one I have the least confidence in. Twins don't hit lefties and Buehrle works quick. It could be 3,4 nothing in the 7th by 8:15pm. It could get late early if Blackburn doesn't deal.
