This weekend St Cloud State University is hosting their Showcase. Games start on Friday and go through Sunday. This will be the last tournament for most summer teams due to the start of the New Upper Midwest Elite Girls HS League (Oct 4th.) and the HS Coaches League

- it was 0-0 at the half way point when they did the ice but Breanna Decker (U18 and committed to Wisconsin) scored all three SSM goals - WOW great talent. Both Kallie Billadeau Jr. Whitecaps and Lauren Joarnt SSM (from White Bear) played very well in goal

The tournment was great hats off to SCSU - wonderful facilities. Many of the girls watched the Saturday game between SCSU and Univ. Sask.
The Balmoral Hall and the SSM teams were very well coached....not so much systems more in what the players did with the puck and away from the puck - everyone always moving and attacking in groups of 5. I am trying to figure out how you transfer that type of play to players and teams. The other thing these three teams did very well was they were so strong on their sticks and the puck.

Balmoral won 3-1. It was a very close hard fought game. It was tied for most of the game. Blamoral took a 2-1 lead with 5 minutes left in the game and chipped in another goal with about a minute remaining.joehockey wrote:OnEdge what was the score of the last game on Sunday. NAHA - from this tournament Jr. Whitecaps, Madison Captials and Wisconsin Wild played there - JWC were 5-1, Capitals and WI Wild about .500
Union - I don't think any of these teams went.
Stoney Creek - Naepean Ottawa went and finished middle of the pack. Crunch went also.
Balmoral and SSM would have done well in any of these tournaments based on what I saw this weekend.
