Former Hurricane Kirwin joins forces with Crunch
Grand Rapids - The Minnesota Crunch are pleased to announce that the former Events Coordinator of Hockey Operations for the Caralina Hurricanes Kelly Kirwin has joined the Minnesota Crunch Effort. Kelly is a great person and talented individual. Kelly came to us with an offer to help and to say we fell over ourselves saying yes is an understatment said Dan Clafton. Her Bio is listed below .
Kelly Kirwin Event Coordinator for Hockey Operations Kelly Kirwin is in her seventh season in the Carolina Hurricanes hockey operations department. Kirwin assists the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in all of the hockey department's daily operations, including contracts, transfers, trades and immigration. She also coordinates the team's scouting staff and individual travel, organizing staff events including the annual scouting meetings, All-Star Game and NHL Entry Draft. Originally from Grand Rapids, Minn., Kirwin attended Wake Forest University on a golf scholarship, graduating in 2000. She currently resides in Grand Rapids

Crunch update
The Crunch are a much improved hockey team from season start. Coach marrinucci and Downing have provided the leadership and skill development to keep this team on track . Crowd in excess of 5oo in both previous home games have been inspriring to the organization. Constantly receiving calls from D-1 and D3 coaches for information on players . THe Eastern swing may prove to be beneficial for some of our players. We have currently already attained verbals from 3 players for next year andhave signed Aly Dorn from TheifRiver Falls for next year. Clothing and merchandise sales have been strong. We are still accepting sponsorships Next games this weekend in Grand Rapids " Revenge on the Range " Dance for your Dinner contest on Saturday , Sunday Am 11am first Americ Inn Kids Club hockey camp with the Crunch players. $10.00 gets you 4 ,1 hour hockey camps, a tshirt, and a ticket to the afternoon game . Borg Entertainment will provide DJ services for both games. The Blue line club meets for free Hor De vours at 3:00pm till 6:00pm at the forest lake . www.minnesotacrunch.com

THe Crunch played the Wisconsin Wild three games in Milwauke and all three games resulted in tie 3-3 4-4 and 6-6 They also played two games against madison losing both but were good ghames until late.
The Crunch return to action Dec 5,6,and 7th in Winnipeg vs Balmoral Hall, Before returning home for a three game series with the Thunderbay Queen in Grand Rapids . check out www.minnesotacrunch.com

Give us your name, address, team you play for and an email and a phone number. We will come and see you play, we simply want to have the opportunity to speak with you explain the benefits to our program .The educational aspect, the hockey aspect and the development aspect. Your costs are less than a third the cost of many schools, and still provide you the opportunity to develop to your full potential on and off the ice. You get to start your education at half the cost of many schools, Play under professional coaches, play 50 -60 high quality games, travel, and become the best you can be. In the end you will know if you have what it takes to play at the next level? Crunch Sign Malwitz
The Minnesota Crunch have signed defender Megan Malwitz from ThiefRiver Falls for the 2009/2010 season. Malwitz joins fellow teammate Ali Dorn on the Crunch for next season. Malwitz is a strong defender with an excellent shot. She will help usd out greatly at the defensive position .

Womack signs with Crunch
Star forward for the Chicago Fury Kristen Womack has committed to the Minnesota Crunch for the 2009/2010 season. Womack a first line forward is very talented said head coach Chuck Rahn of the Fury. Rahn went on to site the coachability and presence that Kristen brings with her. We are excited that Kristen is coming to us said Dan Clafton, She will play a large roll on our 2009/2010 team.

Thank you for your continued interest. The Minnnesota Crunch in its first season will have played 55 games and had nearly 200 hours of on ice practice We have sent one girl D-1 to North dakota in Ali Parizek. Aly Lund from our squad has committed to Concordia Moorhead and Ace Gregg. We expect several announcments on other players shortly. Hilites include ties with Shattuck St Marys 1-1 and 4-4 . A sweep of Rainy River Community College,8-2 and 6-4 3 ties with the Wisconsin Wild in their rink . We completed construction on our locker room hired two ex pro coaches, secured housing for the team and made all our bills,and have nearly half of the team committed for next year. Crunch /Queens tie in game 1
The Minnesota Crunch and Thunder bay Queens tied 1-1 in the first game of the Can /Am Queens cup in Thunderbay last night. Emily Haluska tipped a wrist shot from Mirranda Nelson to tie the game in the second period. Nelson just seconds before clanged one off the pipe before returning the rebound for Haluska's goal. Goaltender Sarah Hammess Murray was outstanding in gola for the Crunch stopping the Queens front and center on several opportunities.
