Section 6AA 2008-2009
OK......can anyone beat Hopkins?
Re: Section 6AA 2008-2009
I think BSM will be stronger than people think. Hopkins has a great line with Cara Johnson and Becky Kortum but I will have to go with BSM. I think both teams are very close talent-wise so I will give the benefit of doubt to the Champ.Silent But Deadly wrote:OK......can anyone beat Hopkins?
Maple Grove, Buffalo or Wayzata might surprise.
Some people might question Buffalo but I think their youth program has been getting stronger each year. I think they will surprise some people this year.

If I remember correctly, the title game last year went to BSM over Hopkins.... 4-0, and it was closer than the score indicates. Special teams were the difference, and that means coaching.
Because of that, the edge still goes to BSM, but I don't know how they will score goals this year.....
Tell me more about Wayzata.... Do they have a shot?

I would say Hopkins is the favorite and BSM is right there as well; both can score and have great goalies. Buffalo has some good goaltending this year and a few kids who can score so they should be a tough match up for anyone in the section along with North Metro who also has very strong goaltending. Maple Grove has some nice players, but no goaltending at all and I am not sure about Wayzata. But this section has some really strong goalies and in the playoffs Goaltending wins games and a few in this section have it and others don't (MG).

Not in this section!! Last year Hopkins wasn't mentally ready for sections but this year they are ready in every way. They have great senior leadership in all areas (offense, defense and special teams) and an outstanding junior goalie in Billadeau. They have two first lines and a third line that will be better than any other third line on the ice. Not only will Hopkins take this section but will be the #1 team in the State after the first week of December.
