I would like to personally congratulate the 98 Fire for winning the 32 team Reebok Little Caesars tournament in Detroit this past weekend. I think this is a huge win for 17 squirts from Minnesota and Wisconsin. This is one of the top 5 AAA squirt tournaments in the United States. They won 6 games that were 1 or 2 goal games for the trophy.
Congratulations for the 2nd time this year, to the "98" Fire for winning the Nike Bauer tournament in Chicago going 7 & 0 and beating Little Caesars for the championship. Way to go players and coaches.

Congratulations to a great group of kids and great coaches !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Obviously it is not the same as an association going to the tourney and winning it? How likely will that be? Differant structure in association vs. AAA.
Lets not get critical of who is on the team and make comments that this isn't association hockey. It's minnesota kids (majority of) who played very well in a big Tier 1 tourney. Great job Fire! The fact that some local kids competed against the best Tier 1 teams in the country is a compliment to many coaches and associations in the state.

Goingdown,
There had to be someone to try throw ants on this thread! Stick to talking about Squirt game limits and what Edina is doing with their 2 "A" squirt teams. You have nothing to add to this thread!
From the Nike Bauer AAA website
97 Fire 4-1-1 lost in Quarter Finals
95 Fire 2-2 lost 1st playoff game to eventual winner, Russian Red Army
Mn Blades U16's 3-1 Did not make playoff round
MN Hockey Elite II 1-2-1 Did not make playoff round
I'm sure the players on all rosters will say the event had great competition and they all had a great time.
why do they need to help Minnesota Hockey, aren't there enough people helping Minnesota hockey?
I'd be more focused on the fact that they are just an option that exists and end your pathetic hatred for a hockey program. It's utterly ridiculous to campaign against a place for kids to play.
Don't like it, produce a better product yourself and you'll retain your players.
These will be great memories for these kids, so who cares if this benefits Minn Hockey or if mom and dad dropped a grand over the weekend. The problem with kids is they grow into adults. So a parent puffs up the accomplishment on an anonymous message board, and others rip it. There may be the next Eric Johnson on that team, but more likely than that will be future beer leaguer's who can tell the crazy stories about their fun times they had as kids at these tourneys.
