I disagree with "no contest". A couple of those guys are just as good when there games are on. Playing hard all the time is part of being a great player.flatontheice wrote:Grant Besse when he plays hard. work hard
What's your definition of "work hard"?
Didn't the kid lead the state in scoring last year in PW's? That didn't take work?
Isn't he part of the Wayzata 1st line that is one of the best Bantam A lines in the state? You don't think he works hard playing with Luc and Op? Or is it that Luc and Op work so hard that what he does isn't noticed as much.
I'm confused, the kid is a flat out sniper. He has a roll, it's called scoring. If there is another kid in the state that scored as many points as he did last year, please, someone let us know. Otherwise, instead of bashing the kid, give him props for the fact that if he's got the puck on his stick in the offensive end, anywhere in the offensive end, he's capable of putting it wherever he wants.
Apples to apples, Besse will have his day this spring at U15's to prove himself to the state. If there are 9 better forwards in his age group, they'll have a chance to show it as well.

Well put Tenover. Nobody ever accused Brett Hull of being a work horse. The fact is he put the puck in the net and thats what wins hockey games. Theres a difference between working hard and working smart. I see a lot of youth players who constantly skate themselves out of position and miss scoring chances because they are so focused on going like a raped ape.

Besse is cocky.
He mocks his opponents and thinks he is good at anything. I have seen him before and talked to some of his teammates.
Mork is good he is a solid defenseman and a great all around playmaker.
I have watched the other two and they are both solid players. I have no relations with hopkins players, i live in duluth.

Besse is flat out the BEST first year bantam in the state. All the people who say that the kid doesnt work hard obviously don't know him. His numbers from PW's and the numbers he has put up so far in bantams (on possibly the best line in the state) speak for themselves. There are many other first year bantams who are major studs as well, but Besse is just on a different level. The kid has some serious skills and is very gifted, there is no doubt about that. And going out of your way to criticize his ability AND his character is unacceptable and just shows a lack of maturity on your part.
