I have a better updated article for you.

I think they are in better hands now and this owner loves hockey. Most companys hire some clown who really knows nothing about the business and lets them run it into the ground. He/she takes bonus money runs off and trys to help another company until that one fails.
Nike is famous for signing the tiger woods and paying them millions and then making the consumer pay much more for the equipment. Is a $300 pair off skates really $300. They did a 20/20 on Jordans shoes they are no better for your feet then a pair at $19.99. M.J wears them so they got to be good. Nike spends so much on Advertisement. Once a company has a name I don't think they have to spend so much to keep it.
I think if you read this article you will see they are trying to get stronger. I don't like the part of laying off 140 workers. Sometimes jobs get duplicated with mergers. As long as they are not outsourcing these jobs. I think the leader of the company has passion for what he is doing and not just worried about shareholders.
Nike gave them two years to take the Nike logo off skates. If you think Gaborik makes these skates better because it has the nike logo. then thats why you have to pay $200 more so they can continue to market these skates to your kid. It won't change the quality of the skate. but you will feel better knowing a pro wears them.
Bauer will only stay strong if you continue to buy the product.
One more thing Nike bought the Bauer company for $430 million and sold it for 200 million 13 years later. I wonder if the CEO got his 25 millon ever year for this great transaction. I'am sure he is either ruining another company or sitting pretty in some mansion on a beach some where. Happy Thankgiving!
