I think he's great. For Forest Lake to obtain a former Olympian, NCAA champion, and a guy with a Stanley Cup ring to coach their squad is a major coup.
Also, getting Brian Burke to be the teams GM will also help as he has done a great job with the Canucks and Ducks.
Kudos to Forest Lake, as their Bantam As should be top 5 by the time bantams hit the playoffs in March.
Silly questions receive silly answers.....

I agree not a good question. But I happen to know the coach personally, and no I am not from FL. He is a great guy and very positive. Considering this group from FL hasn't won a league game in 3 years, if they have won even one game it is an improvement from the past.
BTW this guy is a former High School Coach.

Re: Forest Lakes new A Bantam coach
Tom Eilek was an excellent choice to choice the FL "A" Bantams and if the FLHA is smart will lock this guy up for a long time. He is working to change the culture and atmosphere in an association that has a long, losing tradition. He has made a good connection with the high school coaches and together are putting together the building blocks for a great future. A new arena isn't hurting that effort either.

How can you look at a website to determine a program is a mess? Getting this guy is a positive for the forest lake program plus top notch young high school coach Aaron Forsythe, and a brand new arena (Bantam A record I think is 9-5-1). Hopkins Thanksgiving Tournament Consolation Champions. Losses to Burnsville, Roseville, Stillwater, Rogers, and Elk RIver.Educator29 wrote:looking at the web sight you are a player on the team. what do you think? your program really seems to be a mess. what is going on up there from a kids perspective? Just be thankful Irondale and johnson are now in your district. how was cambridge and crow river

Looking at the web site roster gives one the impression that the person starting this thread is a player on the team.
The comment about the program being a mess, is just a persoanl observation/opinion.
Perhaps, the new coach at the top of the youth program will change it for the better.
Good luck Forest Lake!
