Gretz I feel is better than O'Shea but Gretz may not even start Nanne has been looking good I have heard in the scrimmages and practices don't be surprised to see Nanne get the start for the opener but either is a great choice. It will be interesting to see how AV's 2 freshman do in their first game. Valley will need a good game from Thompson, Warner and Fischer at forward and Robson and Hulbert at D. Not sure if those guys are paired together but it would make for a strong line. Eastview well they lost their whole first line and top 2-3 defenders so experience is thin for them I believe.

unfortunately this isn't really a rivalry until both team achieve something.. such as state championship or cosistent state appearance between the two of them : see 1980's Jefferson/Kennedy/Lincoln Saturday finals at the Met... followed by Richfield,Minnetonka/Edina.... now that me boy was a rivalry.....Eastview vs AV... let me check... nothing there..

Have you ever even been to a apple valley eastview game? The atmosphere is unbeliveable and apple valley has won a state championship and also been to the section finals 4 out of the past 6 years. They share a rink and a town which makes more of a rivialry. Every year Apple Valley plays Eastview the rink is sold out so if you want to come and see a rivalry game check them out i believe they play Dec. 2nd and see for yourself

Key point if Eastview wants the w.... Their D needs to step up, and make a statement. Eastview will be able to put the puck in the net this year, but will they be able to keep it out of their own?

And, for anyone who thinks this isn't a huge rivalry, come check it out. Sold out, students are crazy, always a big game. EV has dominated AV the last 4 years or so, so it will be good.

STEV16- it's been awhile,

Who does EV have that will make them consistent at scoring? I know they return Friedman and Schweiger (sp) but besides those two no one else scored more than 4 goals all year last year who is returning.

I think both teams have some things to anwser early in the year as to what type of teams they will be. Apple Valley has the same question mark for scoring depth.

hockeyjunkie- Good to hear from you, looks like a fun season ahead of us!

They have Friedman, Schweiger, Max Smith, Mike Chachich (sp), Joey Deroucher(sp) and a couple of solid upcoming kids.

Good luck tonight!

Eastview- 0
Apple Valley- 0

End of 1st

Not at the game just getting texts updates so I couldn't tell ya much about which way the game is going besides I heard shots are 8-4 EV. Gretz in goal for AV and I would guess O'Shea for EV.

Eastview- 1
Apple Valley- 1

Start of the 3rd period. It was 1-0 EV after the 2nd but AV came out and scored one early. Smith on the goal, freshman good start for him. Shots after 2 periods were 18-16 in AV's favor.
