In their season opener Alex travels to the MAC to play Cathedral. On paper the Crusaders would usually be the favorite, although with the rivalry these two have they play each other tough, with last year's game ending in a 3-3 tie.

This should be a good one. Both teams have solid goaltending and a balanced attack up front. I'm going to have to go with SCC in this one though
SCC 2 Red Birds 1
SCC 2 Red Birds 1

Actually Alex lost their two leading scorers and they didn't have a whole lot of fire power last year, so Hemmingway is going to have to bail um out to win this onesan yo assassin wrote:ahh first off i see blanda is back, second off alex takes it 4 - 2 with a empty netter alex lost no one and there goaltender is a absolute beast

I was at the game, and it was a well fought game. They had shots at like 34-18 in favor of SCC but it wasnt that lop sided. probably more like 30-22. It was a battle most of the way and alex had the lead most of the . game. They went up 3-1 and then SCC got one with less than a minute, left in the second. The third period was physical and the refs were good but then at the end of the game they started calling penalties. with 4:30 left in the game alex got a penalty which they killed off. Then at 2:18 alex got another penalty on what many people felt was a flop by the SCC player. But SCC scored on the power play to send it into OT. It was back and forth in OT until one of the alex players, was messing around with the puck behind his own net and got it taken away and SCC buried it. Good game, could tell it was alex first game but both teams should have a promising seasons.
