Girls AAA Options

Post by nickel slots »

I'm a newbie to the girls' scene. What are the options out there for u12 girls independent AAA programs? If you have any contacts, please PM me.

I realize this really should go in the "Youth Forum," but the girls stuff doesn't get much attention over there.

Thank you.
Don't sweat the small stuff.
It's all small stuff.

I'd suggest the Minnesota AAA Hockey League which is operated by Showcase Hockey. Showcase is the largest hockey organization in the world and does an amazing job putting together, and managing leagues, and tournaments for hockey players of all levels. They run well over 1000 teams!

It's funny that some are critical of the MN AAA Hockey League because most every independent AAA player in the State started on a MN AAA hockey League team. The 1994 Blades is a very nice collection of players that almost all got their start on a Minnesota AAA Hockey League team.

Coaches and Managers who have spun out of the League, or started their own independent team, have found out it's not as easy, or inexpensive, as they thought. To get on a team with 10 practices, 12 games, all the ice and refs scheduled for you, 3-4 tournaments, insurance and a uniform for under $900 is a tremendous deal. Want more development? They're the only organization that can sell you another 10-20 hours of ice (as the largest ice buyer in the metro) or get you into FHIT (one of the best training options in town) at a discount.

It amazes me that people can be critical of an organization that has done more for the Minnesota hockey community than any other organization by a long shot. There are other, more expensive, options but the answer to your question has to be the Minnesota AAA Hockey League.

I agree Showcase is a great option, it is a great place to start but competition is inconsistent and $900 (compare that to your local youth ice fees) is not a deal but it is easy and does not require much work. Most of the better kids and coaches leave and go independent because they can form local practices, enter tournaments and schedule better games and save money.

Two Nations Female Hockey League is an "at cost" spring hockey league that was formed in 2006.

In 2009, Gold Divison was added to compliment the Platinum Division (HS). For upcoming 2010 season, League games will be played over 3 weekends (MSP, Winnipeg, Fargo) with the Championship weekend to be held at the Blaine Super Rink in early June.

TNFHL has openings in the Gold Divison (96 & 97). Will also allow a max. of 3 1995's on the roster.

Will assist in player placement. Players/parents can send a bio and it will be circulated to teams still looking to fill their roster. It is up to the teams to decide which players to select base on their criteria. As well players/parents can decide if this is a good match.

Please refer to the webite for more information.
