Is this OK! I thought A teams could not play B teams?

Pretty sure they can. When I was in youth we played a few A teams as a B team. Be it they were A teams because they were one team programs and had to field an squad.
I also remember being a B team and playing a AAA team from Littleton Colorado in a Fargo Tourney. Further who knows the rules in South Dakota???? I once played a peewee team from Winnepeg who didn't wear mouth gaurds and that was OK.

teams can always play up:

Minnesota associations typically send B2 teams to B trnys.. that is a fact.
Some win the trny, some lose all of their games... It is within the rules.

I spoke with a Sioux Falls Bantam A parent at the Blaine Thanksgiving tourney and this is their first year playing A. They only have Peewee and Bantam A. Their Bantam A team beat our team in the semis. Pretty decent group of kids.

MN Hockey only recognizes the designation A, B and C. There is no B1 or B2 in MN Hockey. B1 and B2 classification is only at the district level for league games. Not all Districts have a B1 and B2 level, so as long as its a B team touney, a B2 team can play in it.

In North Dakota, throw the A2 designator in there too.

MN teams must stay within their A, B, c class at MN tourneys.

Teams from out side of MN are allowed to play at whatever level is deemed appropriate for their talent.

I seem to remember something about plating up if the district directors allowed it. Anything to that or was that that just some delusional thinking?

DD can allow play between an A & B team, but not in tournaments.

Its a 'sanctioned' thing if it happens. Costly to the local assns.

This SF B team played Red Wing the opening game......nothing like greasing the slide to the right.

SF lost all games and I don't think they scored a goal....Likewise they were Red Wings only win and then they got kicked the next two games.

Lets take District 15...teh cas 5 or six years ago was this: You could have DL, FF, Brainerd,....then Moorhead Black and Moorhead Orange....and Littel Falls, in a say, Bantam B district....B 1 or 2 or 5 ...doesn't really matter...unless in a specific district.....maybe it has changed.....Also:
The rule used to be that all programs who had High School Varsity teams had to have an A team......Therefore a lot of times a B team from Fergus or DL or Brainerd would play the Bantam "A " team from Sauk Centre or Benson or Morris....or Little Falls........so that happened too... Personally, I would be surprised if there were any rules about A teams playing b teams or C teams etc...anywhere.....does anyone know ..and finally, why are you so worried about it if they're sending a B team to an a tournement????I can see an A team to a B tourney upsetting someone,, but this???
