Classic Hopkins, playing the cupcake non-conference schedule.

Give me a post when they get out of the little boys room and start bangin with the men. Too much talent to play such dismal teams.

Intentionally spoken with the voice of the Papa Bergundy himself I presume... the Germans settled San Diego.

Game 2 of the trip up north:

Virginia 5,
Hopkins 4
FINAL

Chris Westin had four goals for Virginia
Shots were 38 to 30 in favor of Hopkins

Virginia led 5-2 with less than 3:00 left, then a PP goal and a quick flurry made this one close at the end.

So Hermantown and Virginia are dismal teams?

You're not the first to use the classy joke, so it's not that funny anymore. Plus how does my opinion on two teams skill level effect my level of class?

And they lost? Well, usually top ten AA teams can handle good class A teams. I guess they're not as good as people think.

On another note, look at there non-conference schedule beyond these two games as well and tell me you disagree. It's not some big secret that they play an easy schedule.

I wasn't trying to be funny.
Hermantown and Virginia have had some very good teams as well as some outstanding individual players.
Assuming Hopkins should be able to beat them is one thing.
Saying they are little boys and not men is quite another.

How is Boyd doing for Hopkins...Heard he got an offer from Ann Harbor. Is he putting points on the board like last year?

Don't take everything you read so literally. It's scientifically proven to decrease your life expectancy.

Travis Boyd is off to a good start with four goals and eight assists in 5 games. Archie Skalbeck is also starting well, with 10 goals and 4 assists. They often assist on each other's goals.

Papa, you need to remember that with the conference Hopkins plays in, in years past Hopkins was rarely even a .500 team, and they frequently lost to the teams you criticized them for scheduling. Last year was a surprise to everyone, but they made a respectable showing in both the Classic Lake and the tournament. They have been playing without two of their top defensemen so far, so I'm sure they are hoping to get better when they return. (By the way, the Virginia loss was with Hopkins' backup goalie, not Fons.)

Hopkins' non-conference schedule this year includes three Lake Conf. teams, Eden Prairie, Rosemount and Eagan, as well as So. St. Paul and Buffalo, and the So. St. Paul tourney could include games against Anoka and/or Woodbury.

Lots of hockey to be played.

Same arguement goes for Virginia, they started a 10th grade goalie with his 1st varsity start insted of their 3rd year starting goaltender Will Lustig.
