Lakeville and RAVE need to step up and play A?
For the last few years now both teams have overachived in the B level whay are they affraid of at the a level being a 500 team why dont they step up?
hey man i play for lakeville and i understand what you mean.
As for last years team, we had no clue we where going to be that good that year. the year before they didnt go about 500 at B and the right kids got cut and it all fell together at the last minute. At the end of last year we debated on going to A but we didnt for this reason. We graduated every good player on our team. We have 4 kids on the team this year that where on it last year. I honestly thought we where going to be TERRIBLE this year. we graduated both goalies, and 98% of our goals.
It just happened again that one kid got cut this year and it made a few kids quit. We would have tried to go to A, but the decision had to be made alot earlier than most people think. If we knew we would have been good again, we wouldnt stay at B. We aren't by any means trying to stay low to just beat up on weak teams. It's just the way things worked out..

Lakeville used to have an A and A B team. However, after the addition of the new high school they went to a B team. Each of high schools takes about 40 kids. Only about 12 kids come out for Jr. Gold, then they go get kids (especially goalies) that haven't played for awhile to fill out the team. Woodbury & Hastings have two B teams. Eagan has like a total of three Jr. Gold teams.
Lakeville will as you say will step up and have an A and B team when they have enough players. They did have a good team last year and the verdict is still out this year, prior to that they didn't fair so well.
What team are you with? Maybe, it's you that needs to step up.

How could lakeville split there team? have 8 skaters on one team and 7 on the other? cuz that's all the kids that would play. Only like 12 tried out we had to go beg kids to play.youngniper27 wrote:yea whats ur point that woodbury and hastings have two b teams? if they combined their teams they would be just as good if not better than lakeville. lakeville either needs to split their team up into two or move to A, no doubt.
We don't have the numbers to consistantly be at a A level. We have been good a B for one year and are doing alright this year. that is 1-2 years out of 10, that's no excuse to move up. Like i said, we thought we were going to be bad. If any of you kids that get pissed off after losing actually thought about it, you would realize the decision is made prior to the season by a couple of months. We have no idea how good we are going to be. If the right kid didnt get cut, we could be 0-4 right now. What would you be saying then? That kid being cut brought 6 skaters that normally wouldnt have played out to the team. So say we went to A and that kid didnt get cut, we wouldnt just lost, but the weak kids on the team would be getting HURT at the A level.
This same topic came up last year by the same kid. Quit your crying and take the loss.

I agree.. I know what you mean Lakeville. They should be on JGA.. I understand that you can't make the decision now. and that you didn't know. it was just luck. I just wish we had the begging skills like you guys.. haha. We always ask for people to come out but they always turn it down, like its a disgrace to be on Jr. Gold.... But i must admit it would be nice to see Lakeville in JGA. It would also be nice to see Hastings on JGA also. But its over and done with... Good luck everyone on your season's.

lakeville playing A?
are you kidding? I have played both A and B. Yes Lakeville is a good team this year but there is two much of a difference between skill and speed of junior gold A and junior gold B. Based on the games i've seen from JGB many of the teams have a few players that could play A. From my experience most schools with an A and a B team have the availability of players to do both. Lakeville had 12 skaters show up at tryouts... therefore proving a lack of players. Yeah they have 3-5 kids that could play at the A level, but in order to even compete in the A level, you have to have a pretty solid team. With the remaining 10 skaters being below par at A level it would be pure domination. I agree Lakeville should move back up to A, WHEN THEY'RE READY. Two years ago, with the instillation of another High School, Lakeville's Junior Gold A team became their second Varsity team(north or south). And yeah it might take some time but until lakeville has enough skaters to even man two decent junior gold B teams I dont think they should consider moving up to A. Maybe next year will be different and they will have enough players for two teams and maybe then they could go with an A and a B team, but who knows. Personally speaking, I was a mid to low end player at the A level, but dominated at B. So if you have two kids that dominate on your B team and people think thats justification to move up, they would be stuck with two decent A players and the rest of the team would get skated around. Haven't seen rave play this year, but at least these two teams should make one hell of a game.
Remember, hockey is supposed to be fun... its just a game. Forget the politics and b.s. calls... just be happy you still have the opportunity to get on the ice.
