Buzz Olson, long-time ref

Buzz Olson of East Grand Forks has suffered a stroke.

Buzz is a longtime ref and current VP of north MN Refs Assn.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Did he ever coach? How old would he be?:cry:

He may have coached a while back.

Buzz is about 60.

His son JB Olson is a ref in the metro area.

He was the assistant coach on my high school team in the early 70's at EGF. We went to state my senior year. He Then took over as the head coach for several years there.

He had some great teams, but never made it to state because he had to go throught the Brotens at Roseau.

Buzz is a fantastic man and a real genuine nice guy.

I also know he is a fighter.

I will pray for him and wish him and his family the best.

Buzz was inducted into the Bemidji State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008, three year letter winner in hockey and 1969 graduate. I was honored that Buzz nominated me for my current position on the EGF Blue Line Club board.
