Meadow Creek Christian @ Irondale 11-25
First game of the year involving a MN team. Irondale started the year 0-9 last year and went 11-5 in their last 16 games of the regular season last year. Who's Meadow Creek Christian?

Are they a new program then? They weren't a MSHSL team last year as far as I can find. Minnesota-scores doesn't even list them as a team this year yet.

With the exception of Benilde and Totino on their schedule, it should be a laid back year for them with each Mpls team twice and St Francis 3 times, to name a few.

You are correct. I remembered that rule from past years when my spreadsheet started flagging some teams for having more than 25 games on their schedule. The MSHSL.org site makes this clear.Elvis wrote:26th games are allowed for teams filling up a first year team's schedule. Check the other teams on MCC's schedule and I bet most have 26 games.

As of later this afternoon, I'm pulling this game off the schedule at minnhock.com. mshsl.org and FollowThePuck.com don't show this as a game, but geocities/dent does. The official school website for Meadow Creek shows it as a game, but Irondale hockey's website indicates it's a scrimmage. Considering that there are no games scheduled state-wide until Friday 11/28, this appears to be a scrimmage. So, I'm going with that unless I can get verification otherwise from both schools.

If a student transfers to a private school they cannot play sports? They have to be in a private school from kindergarten on? How does Hill do it? 12-1 is a bad loss, but it is their first year and I think Hill Murray was like 4-13-1 in their first year and rocketed up from there. All it will take is a few transfers and the flood gates will open. NWSC or private school has won every state title since 2000 besides Roseau one year (NWSC-4)(private schools-4)(Roseau-1)-Reason why? In my opinion its because the area has never had a private school hockey program like the rest of the metro that is littered with them, and like I have said before how many titles would Johnson- N St Paul- S StPaul have won without Hill around? I Could be wrong, but the signs are all there.

Sorry to bring back old talks, but come on Davie. You seem to enjoy throwing around ridiculous statements like its confetti. I'm hoping your initial question is just a joke, and the truth is Meadow Creek Christian will not establish themselves. Come on man, HM AHA,, BSM, TG, Breck, Blake - all of these schools have long been established and were established prior to the new rule that was put into effect last year making any transfers result in a 1 year period where the student cannot play varsity. So unless Meadow Creek has some kind of ice cream shop that appeals to 8th graders, it just wont happen.crocket wrote:If a student transfers to a private school they cannot play sports? Lol thats good, I hate to rip on the team but a good buddy of mine went to Meadow Creek last year and played JV and has now transfered back to Blaine and is playing JV here. He says his decision to come back was because the program was going nowhere and nobody was coming in that could help the team. Just saying the talent isn't there because my friend was a captain on the team last year and he is (no offense to him) an average player at Blaine. The transfer rule makes it too hard to build a program nowadays.MNsGreatest#2 wrote:Sorry to bring back old talks, but come on Davie. Yea Davie this is a moderatly wealthy area with alot of talent. So that talent will stay with their respective public school or head off to one of the real private schools like kids have been doing since you were a twinkle in your moms eye. Come on man you think if parents are gonna fork over the money for their kids to go private, they will worry about the logistics of the school? You need to be banned from all posts concerning meadow creek.crocket wrote:They will take in hockey talent the same way other private schools will -The thing in their favor again is no other private school hockey programs in a talent rich area- Not a matter of if they will succeed, just how quickly.

I agree, that scenario is definentely plausible. But, what happens when they get these few players? they do well with that schedule of theirs? There are peewee teams that could break 500 with a schedule like that.HShockeywatcher wrote:I don't agree with him that they will be a force to reckon with anytime soon, but if you have a young very talented player who wants 4-5 years of varsity experience and the private school education in the area, this could be their ticket. A few kids do it and they improve dramatically...

Yeah and last time I checked Little Falls doesn't have transfer rules they have to worry about. Oh the possibilities when your a public schoolHShockeywatcher wrote:Look at any team who's gotten better over the years. Little Falls' schedule was terrible a couple years ago and now it's better because they are and better teams will play them. Same thing would happen. Not saying it will, just a possibility.
